i just started buying these a few weeks ago.....i think they are great. i have one a day as a sub to brown rice or oats. it's made from organic brown rice...tastes decent. not sure you should over do it and have a few a day...it's just something to mix up the monotony of our boring diets! i make sure it fits into my macros and i've been seeing good progress. maybe something worth checking out...

sweet tatoes are def good!!! ya know i always forget about them....somehow they slip through the cracks. these rice cakes are just an idea in case people get tired of their usual carb sources...i'm on a cutting diet and have been eating these...still losing the inches off the waist and making progress so don't be afraid to try them!

haha...change is the enemy! having tuna and a rice cake right now.....just had tuna and a rice cake 3 hours ago....i suk! or maybe i'm just cheap!

If they taste good to you, do not impinge on your goals, or hinder your progress, provide some type of satisfaction for your sweet tooth, and are used in moderation… Then I don’t see a HUGE problem if you like them …

Ingredients still = processing to me & I would eat those things like I can a jar of ANPB ...

Moderation and for a quick satisfying change, with the above stated, if it works for YOU .. for me, negative

18 g carb (1 gram fiber and 2 grams sugar) per 20.5 gram rice cake

organically derived ingredients yes
processed food yes

still no

this may be a dumb question, but how can you tell if it's processed or not...

i've been eating them in place of brown rice with lunch for a while now and it's working well for me. but i def don't liek the fact that it's processed...all i saw was organic brown rice and i was like ok...i'll give it a try

processed food is basically something that has been manufactured and not in it's original form
the rice is puffed to make the rice cakes
andrew weil who wrote several books including 8 weeks to utimal health stated that processed foods can acutually be detrimental to the body as no longer has to work to digest it thusly allowing insulin levels to rise faster
also processed foods have added ingredients to them such as salts, sugars, and fats

just because it is marketed as organic does not make it necessarily better for you
just the pestisides and preservatives are minimalized

but if you eat a varied diet that works with the seasons i think you will be much happier and healthier

case in point: everyone thinks fish is good for you
two years ago a woman who ate fish esp fresh tuna and swordfish went to see her doctor because she was exhibiting syptoms that she thought all the omega3's were supposed to prevent, bad skin and her hair was falling out

turns out she was consuming over 12 portions of fresh fish a week and had for several months turns out she had mercury poisoning

while i am not trying to scare you
i am suggesting caution
read all your labels and packaging
if something has more than 4 syllables or you cannot pronounce it i would consider it with skepticism
eat what is seasonally
eat lots of fresh veggies even frozen
try to eat at least 6 servings of green veggies and include two of each other colour.....red, yellow, orange, purple, brown, white even blue
eat more legumes (beans, etc...) those are good sources of carbs as well as a mega load of fiber
eat clean protien sources
watch sodium contents
watch for transfats

i rant
sorry

:verygood:
