My current split

as me doing Deadlifts on Monday
squats on wednesday

as per markus Reinhardt this is over kill...

Im thinking about doing deadlifts on Monday then on wednesday do legpress

the week after NO deadlifts but will do squats..

I ove these 2 exercises!!!

I pulled 405lbs today for reps!

They're rough lifts, but as long as you aren't overtraining, why wouldn't you?

I've been squatting twice a week and deadlifting once for a few months now, and it's worked very well for me.

Deadlifts take ALOT out of me. I can only do them 2, maybe 3 times a MONTH. If I start doing them heavy every week, my numbers go down after a few weeks. I need about 3 or 4 days of rest after squats before I will dead.

I get raped of all my energy from doing squats and deadlifts. I wont do a squat or a deadlift withing 2 days of one or the other. I like that idea about training them in different weeks. Give it a try. leg presses dont please me though. I think its a cheap way to pussy your way out of a squat. But who am I to say?,.....

I agree. I don't think doing both once a week is a problem. But I do think it's a good idea to separate them as much as possible.

I do squats every week, but I replace deads with rows sometimes. If I dead every week, my progress takes a dive. Like Haz said, they tax the shit out of your body.
