Im training DC right now, following everything very specifically...what i was wondering though, having a chest that is lagging as far as development, what would happen if i added a second set into chest as a 20 rep set, just like deadlifts and squats have???? would this be beneficial? I recover very easily with my 1 set, and dont think recovery would be a prob..but a 20 rep set couldnt be that beneficial for mass building, but it must be better than not doing the second set at all???

Are you including rest pause, negatives, and static holds??

If not. . this can be part of the problem.

Performing 20 reps for chest is not the same as performing 20 sets for quads.

For example, here should be a typical chest session:

Lets say that you can bench press 225lbs for 9 reps.

Warmups: 135lbs x 10, 185lbs x 5, 205lbs x 3
Building set: 225lbs x 9 reps. . .then rack the weight for 10 seconds and following the correct breathing patterns. . . unrack the weight and bang out an additional 3 reps. . . when reaching failure. . perform a static hold. When the weight starts to come downward, covert the motion into a negative (6 seconds).

Make sure you have a partner close by.

Your chest will totally be exhausted. . .and there is no need to perform additional sets.
