Some of the other side effects of repeated (not ongoing) use of corticosteroids can be a weakening of connective tissue, a loss of bone mass, and compromised internal organs. Just over two years ago a world renowned transplant surgeon had to do a bowl, liver, and kidney transplant on a patient because of systemic damage from repeated (but infrequent) use of corticosteroids in the treatment of an immune deficiency disorder. I know of another case where a man developed osteoporosis and connective tissue injuries from Prednisone use specifically. If you really are going to do this, be sure to keep an eye on your blood calcium levels. Prednisone chews up calcium like a kid in a candy store.
