BuffaloGal's Log

My workout was going oh so great while I was doing my abs. Went to take the plates off the military press (because some idiot was too lazy to do it!) and preceded to drop the 45-lb plate on my big toe.

Took a while for me to realize what happened until the pain hit! Somehow I managed to finish my workout and keep that toe moving, but my shoe kept getting smaller and smaller. It is now black and blue and twice the size it should be. So, the rest of my day will be spent with an ice pack and hoping it's not broken. Although the increasing pain does not give me much hope. So much for my consistent cardio routine I've been able to get into. At least now I can sleep in...
OH NOOOOOOOO! I have a feelin' you've got at least a fracture. I stubbed my big toe once playing Guesgures! lol Well, the word was "stub" so I acted it out.....and broke something in there. It started turning black & blue and swelling within a half hour after I did it. Don't bother going to the Dr. There's nothing they can do for it. Go get yourself a velcro-strap bootie to wear if you can't get your shoe on. One of those things they put over casts. I had to do that until my pain went away. It took a couple of weeks.

Wishing you fast healing!!!:rose:

Thanks to all of you gals!

SG, I went and bought some tape and wrapped my big toe to the next one. Most of the bruising is on the top of my foot and then over to the side, so I'm wondering if I didn't do something to my foot rather than my toe. All I know is it swelled up within about 5 or 10 minutes, so I know I definitely did something to it.

Either way, it was still swollen this morning, but had gone down a little this afternoon. Once I unwrapped it, it started to hurt again, so I'll just leave it wrapped for a few days. I'm of the same opinion that it's pointless to go to a dr. considering they can't really do anything. I'll just keep walking on the side for a while until it gets better and try not to put in pressure on it.

I'm a tuff ole broad so I can tough it out. Just gives me more of an excuse to concentrate on my upper body for the next week or two. ;)

5:50 am: 1 Glucorell-R

Meal 1: 6:05 am

2 T-Rex
multivitamin
potassium supp
4 white, 1 whole egg scrambled
1/2 c oatmeal w/ 1/4 c rasp, 1 scoop whey and splenda
1 liter water

Workout: Back (skipped legs today)

WG Pulldown: 1 of 8@70, 2 of 8@80
DB Row: 1 of 8@35, 2 of 8@40
NG Pulldown: 1 of 8@70, 2 of 8@80
DB Pullover: 2 of 12@30

**Really feel like I need to start changing up this workout routine a little bit, like adding in more dropsets, supersets, etc. But, I'm going to stick with this until I can find a new gym after the move.

9:30 am: 3 Levorex
8 oz water

Meal 2: 9:45 am

PWO Protein Shake w/ 1 scoop whey, strawberries, pineapple, mango and water

Had to sit at the dealer for 2 hours to get my car worked on. The whole time I was there, a buffet table full of muffins, jelly-filled danishes (my fav), cookies and granola bars were staring me in the face. I deliberately sat there and looked at it to test my willpower rather than get up and move. Somehow I was able to resist the urge to eat one of those sugar-free cookies. I wish I could do that all the time... :verygood:

Good JOB! I know the urge. I sat and stared at the candy counter last night at the movies for 30 minutes waiting to get into the theater and I didn't get any candy! Although you had it harder because it was free... I would have to pay like $4 for a 1/4 bag of M&M's. So I at least had that deterring me also!

I just did that last weekend and decided against the candy then. Paying $4 for too many sugar-filled cals just doesn't seem worth it at this point. I think I do it more to torture myself than anything, just to see how important this is to me. I guess I've made some progress in the last 14 weeks.

That, plus I'm dying for a french fry and will be eating that this weekend along with a cheeseburger so I have a light at the end of the tunnel. Eating that cookie would have made me feel bad enough to deter those plans, and it wasn't worth it.

Good luck on your comps Treilin. I'll definitely be watching your progress - and can't wait to see the pics!

I'm on the hunt for a good marinade to broil/grill shrimp in tonight. If anyone knows of any, I'm all ears. Grilled chix/tky/bison is starting to get a little old.
