Box Squats

Thaibox

New member
A question for B fold and other experienced powerlifters. I understand what a boxsquat is and the significance of it, and I'm very interested in doing them. But It also seems to me that it is very technical and I won't be getting the benefits from it if I don't do it completely right. Can anyone recommend a site that has pics of this lift. I just can't seem to visualize it enough. I've checked out places like deepsquatter.com and elitefitnesssystems with no luck. Thanks bros:)

Dave is working on more pictures for the site. He has been real busy with the IPA Nationals this weekend. He plans on having the new exercises section be full of pictures.

The box squat is easier than most people make it out to be. The y things to keep in mind are:
1)Knees out
2)Elbows under the bar and ass out from the start
3)Push the glutes to the rear and sit back
4)maintain a tight arch with your abs pushed out against the belt
5)Drive your head into the bar

Fix only one problem at a time. Let me know if you have more questions.

let us know how you get on doing em. I keep meaning to try them out myself but always get sidetracked and end up squatting normal.

Its taking me ages to get used to the really wide stance a lot of people adopt, always feel like i dont have a lot of stability front and back <shrugs>
