Welcome to Iowa. Welcome to New Jersey. Welcome to any state in the union. Most people don't train legs. And if they do It's your prototypical leg extention and leg curl routing. Squatiing and deadlifting are brutal. There is absolutely no way around that and for that very reason most people don't do them. Most people don't want to endure that kind of pain. Then again; most people in the gym aren't all that serious about being in the gym in the first place. Let's face it. Legs are what seperates the men from the boys. If you've got the stones in your sack to put up with deads and squats then you know damn well that you're dedicated to your training and that's the real reason why guys who put forth the effort to squat are also rewarded with growth in other body parts. Squating certainly has an all encompassing effect as the weight is suspended over the entire body which requires a great deal of musculature to be activated and subsequent hormanal, nueromuscular, and hypertraophic responses to take place in more muscles than just those of the legs.
