Being a parent of a baby

but I have not been able to really schedule daytime naps yet....she sleeps through the night which is great but she has no daytime schedule yet

she naps, but not on schedule. I've tried everyting, tell me what I should do. I'll listen.

She is 3 months. Tell me what to do. I've read every book. I got her to sleep through the night, and I schedule her feedings. I'll take any advice. This is my first time!

chirp chirp ortiz

were you directly involved in scheduling your daughter's naptimes, and what did you do

I dunno...all three of my kids liked their three hr cycles...but all night too :(

my only policy was...never wake a sleeping baby (they wont starve) but dont keep the house quiet!

See, I dont let her sleep for longer than 3 hour stretches during the day, to be sure she sleeps through the night.

But she has no "routine" for daytime naps yet. I guess I'm missing the boat, but I'd love to hear what I should do to jump back on

whelp...I dunno for sure

have you tried twoor three 'naps" a day?
go through a sleep routine two to three times a day...every day?

how long does she sleep at night?

and...have you tried a body carrier of anykind...aka... AP/attachment parenting?

not as a lifestyle or anything but just something to soothe her?
is she overstimulated? understimulated?

my oldest got bored easy and would complain...my youngest would get upset by too many things at once...
it can be tricky

yes, cindy, i have seen my wife without makeup looking blah. that i can handle. you are lucky she is sleeping through the nitght. thats awesome. i hope thats what happens for us. my friends little boy is up all the time. they are exhausted. sounds like you are having fun though. thats good.

I'll give you some advice: STOP STRESSING! You cannot schedule a 3 month old infant! You've got to let the child do as her body compels her to do. You can't get her to sleep through the night until she gets to a certain bodyweight, that's all there is to it, and even then some kids take longer than others. If you keep disrupting her rest when she naturally sleeps you're messing with her system, you're going to both be nervous wrecks. If she falls asleep during the day, turn off the phone, put a do not disturb sign on the front door, and go take a nap, don't clean something. Be nice to you.

What is all the pressure? Who is doing what to you that you can't sleep when the baby does? And who cares about the damned holidays? My kid was born Dec. 12, I don't think I wrapped squat. Who cares if the house doesn't look like something out of good housekeeping and you don't look like Harriet Nelson? If they're that shallow, tell them to go pound sand, and I don't care if they are inlaws.

You're going to give yourself and that child ulcers. You can't fight mother nature, the more you try to make that child do what she won't naturally the longer she will make your life miserable.
