Anyone else gone Paleo?

well the amount of GH being released is supposed to tide you over for a couple days. Actual catabolism doesn't happen till the 72-96 hours mark...that's fucking impressive. That literally means you don't lose an ounce of real muscle, so long as you're taking in water, for 3-4 days. So if you're hitting that meal once a day and maybe doing a 2 day fast every other week or so you should be a GH machine.

You peaked my interest bro, I bought the book...Er virtual book, reading it now. Thx red

What book?
WTF?

The Warrior Diet. I'm thinking I might apply both the principles of the Paleo diet with controlled fasting of The Warrior Diet. Warrior Diet is only 360 pages or so and seems in line with Paleo just takes a different approach.

That's interesting where did you get that info from?

I just read it the otehr day about the study of the muslim rugby players during Ramadan. That was about fasting though, not the warrior diet specifically. The warrior diet probably has you eating something before the wkt...what i've been doing for the past week or so is actually lifting on a completely empty stomach. I might have a little juice in the morning and do get some carbs in the form of whatever i sweeten my coffee with that day, but that's it. I'm trying to convert my body to use ketones as an energy source. It may take some time before the body adjusts and can utilize the ketones as efficiently as acetones, which are what is created when you eat mainly carbs. But I'm not eating Paleo though, for that one meal a day I'm definitely taking in everything, including alot of carbs. My end goal is that what carbs I do take in go straight to the muscles, all of it.

Diet:

Intermittent fasting style diet (16 hours fast / 8 hours eating , fasted workouts). I will not go into details about this protocol as there are tons of articles about it all over the net. And you'll find some interesting articles of mine on my blog when it's finally up.

Nutrient intake / day:
- 500g protein
- 400g carbohydrates
- 50g fats

Protein sources are lean meats, egg whites, whey protein, low-fat curd cheese, yogurt
Carbs sources are veggies and fruits, oats, rice, yogurt
Fats sources are fish oil, macadamia nut oil, fish, olive oil, walnuts

I got rid of my lactose-fructose-phobia a long time ago and I'm glad I did. Has no effect on my form whatsoever but makes eating much more fun as I've loved fruit and dairy since I was a kid. I also always make sure I eat at least 4lbs of veggies per day no matter what my goal is, except for the last days prior to shows. Most people underestimate the importance of proper nutrition which comes into play as even more important when on a steroid cycles. Want to cleanse your body? Need liver support? Antioxidants? Better digestion? Improved cholesterol levels? Vegetables will provide all of that. But surely eating 100 grams of broc per day isn't going to have much effect, just like you won't try bulking with 10mgs of steroids per day. Your body needs real food to function properly. I hate it when I see kids trying to bulk up, living on protein bars and weight gainer shakes. The only thing you're going to achieve with such diet is possible long term digestive issues and malnutrition as long as you don't supplement your diet with a whole bunch of micronutrients and fiber.

he's dead on teh money about micronutrients. We're all obsessed with macronutrients, well they're worthless without micronutrients. YOu can eat 1000 grams a day of protein and you won't hardly absord any of it without the right micronutrients floating around your system. Vegetables, and just green shit in general, are far and away more important than carbs/fat/protein.

but there's absolutely no reason for him to do intermittent fasting with all that gear he's taking, it's actually counter productive. The whole point of IF is to simulate the kind of hormonal dump you get from being on roids, just not to the same extent. You can't eat hundreds and hundred of grams of protein a day and expect to digest it if you're not on roids. He's not producing much of his own hormones because he's got synthetic hormones coursing through his body so it's just not that useful to be fasting like that for purpose's other than cleansing

I try to eat more food that grows but I won't give up some things like cheese and rice. My energy level is stable but stable at a lower level. Top cross fit athletes do not eat paleo.
