Ab training gettin on my nerves

Hey guys I'm a powerlifter i'm 17 5 9 170lbs 8%BF. As much as I try I can't get abs. I take dieting sooo serious since I'm competing now. But the thing is as much as I try to get a pretty nice 6 pack it just doesn't seem to happen why is that???? One day for abs I'll do pulldowns 3X12 the next day i'll do 75 leg raises and sit ups and crunches. Is there a specific program of ab training so I can get a decent 6 pack??????? One thing though I don't believe in doing cardio, so I know that's one thing holding me back from getting one, but either way I should be able to train them to show and get strong, right???
 
Dude, from reading your posts I didn't think getting a sixpack was your main priority.

Remember, if you can see your abs, you're not trying hard enough!

A sixpack is all diet btw. Sit-ups and leg raises simply work your hip flexors btw.

ZZuluZ I know man ur kinda right, but here's the thing i'm 17 and my girl is like "u have small ways to go to be there baby" and i know that turns her on so u know gotta do what u gotta do. I still wanna go for nothing but strength no doubt about it, but if a six pack comes along u know it'll help my game some, not that i need that much help right now anyway but it's a booster.

Diamond my diet is clean, b/c i don't like junk food really every once in a while like once a week i'll eat it other than that it's all bars, shakes, all natural PB sandwhiches, steak and chicken for me.
 
If your not seeing your abs with the kind of training your doing its all diet and cardio thats holding you back. Your abs are there waiting to be uncovered bro. I'm not sure if you store fat easily but limiting the bad fat and throwing some omega 3 fats in there should help. Limit your fruits and eat simple carbs only after training. Try a few minutes of cardio a couple of times week and build it up slowly over a period of time and you should see some abs appearing. You might have to adjust your diet and cardio accordingly but once you see them all will be good.

You're seriously deluding yourself if you think it's possible to achieve maximum strength while dieting to the max in order to see your abs.

Jabs thanx man upset I really don't like cardio and wouldn't do it since I know it won't help me gain strength and too much of it will get me weaker.

ZZuluZ either way I have to keep dieting right now until April 10 my last meet since right now I have to be on stand by for my schoo lifting I really can't put on all that weight and I've been taking recent visits to the beach with the old lady so I figured for a while I'll get one until I put all my training weight back on.

Agreed... you gotta choose one or the other! The grim reality most BB'ers know is that strength peaks as weight peaks, AND when you diet down your appearance peaks but at the cost of a lot of your strength... Sorry man! That's life!
 
YEA i guess that's true but there's stil one thing that I can't get of my mind i have a friend that is stronger than me weighs 10lbs more than me and is WWAAAAYY more cut than me and has been lifting as long as I have and started lower than I did. And now he has surpassed me even with cutness and this kid eats whatever he sees I mean junk food up the ass. I'm guessing AS but I can't think what he did. I would like to know not for me to do it but to fuck with him i.e. if he did fina whenever I see him start moooing just to see what he says I mean nothing wrong if he did it but he never admits it and that's the gay part.
 
More than likely he's genetically blessed in that respect.

Are there very strong people who are cut? Yes. But to achieve your maximum potential getting abs is really going to hinder you.

I'd like to see what kinda responses this would have got over at PL board ;)
