Does cardio on an empty stomach ever lose it's effectiveness?

In the same way that say working out with the same routine does? If I never change my routine I will hit a wall and not get past it unless I mix thing sup. But, the body can adapt a little, but can it overcome a 7 or 8 hour fast followed by cardio? I like how fast the fat drops off when doing the elliptical on an empty stomach and just wondered if I'll need to change the time of day or something in 3 months or so. Thanks in advance for any help.

fat loss isnt a strong suit for me. but from what ive read fasted cardio is the king. however, it is very helpful to occasionally vary the heart rate intensity. Just shocking that every couple of times should be enough.

How have your results been? :)

i think, offseason or if youre cutting, that cardio postworkout would be the best.
atleast for me...
i mean, all the glycohgen stores are gone, beacause of the workout but you still have protein in your body after the last meal, to prevent muscle breakdown

thoughts?

i think it was justin harris who said that in the old days the cavemen used to walk around all day looking for food but would still retain muscle and that in the same breath, walking around for an hour before eating wouldn't cause significant muscle loss

change the intensity. if youre doing 45 minutes at a low intensity, add a few jogs and sprints. you can also do hiit cardio for 20 minutes, 1 minute walk, 30 second spriints. and keep going harder until you can do 30 second sprints and 30 second walks. imo, low intensity cardio like walking sucks. im not saying do very high intensity but im saying walking at 3.0 mph for 45 minutes sucks. it takes way too long and its extremely boring. the reason why pro bodybuilders do it is because they are huge. how many 250 pound bodybuilders have you seen, doing sprints, they are too big and all that weight pounding on their knees and joints will take a beating, so they do low intensity.

it's going ok, but not as good as I would like. I've gained weight but my clothes have gotten a BIT looser. I don't think I am gaining enough muscle to offset any fat loss, I think that's impossible. I do feel much better overall and I do notice my strength is a lot better. I also notice my flexibility is much better and I think the P90X workout is a good one. I really works me hard and I sleep like a rock. lol I think my diet is the problem and while I've been doing much better with the proper carbs and no junk, I still eat more than maybe I should. The problem I've had is the timing of things. If I get a meal wrong I REALLY notice I run out of gas about halfway through the hour long p90x workout. I guess I'll just keep learning. I'm going to eliminate the p90x cardio sessions in the afternoon and do early morning cardio on an empty stomach on my elliptical. I can burn 300 cals in about 25 minutes, more if I do HIIT which I plan on doing. So we'll see if that helps with a more direct fat loss.

How does the above sound?

Good idea I will try that. Thanks for the reply!

Read you were doing P90X, program is fantastic! Tough at first, but if you want to drop BF% and/or weight its the perfect tool.
I got through w/ mine never missed a day monday-sunday.
Now, I'm back in the gym lean bulking.
I did this program every morning on an empty stomach
