im all ears now...

u think training like a powerlifter 8 months out of the year then switching to high rep workouts doesnt affectively shock your muscles and your CNS i beg to differ?

Im not saying the shock is going to transform you into a machine, but going from 5 reps to 12 reps sure will SHOCK em. =]

I agree with most of what you said in this post.
 
So what about Smolov, or German Volume traing etc. I'm just throwing around names that I see on this board, I have no idea what either of those routines are about. Basically I notice that people gravitate towards a small amount of routines that have been proven to work. What are some of these routines that you have had personal success with because I dont think I am at the point where I can successfully make up my own routine, even though I consider my an intermediate lifter. So some tried an true methods I should look into?
 
You don't need to switch up the parameters of loading if you are not using a set-in-stone program like 5x5.
