We have another newbie! :

Ok... I was afraid to post this before, but I want to start bodybuilding! I'm 16 years old, and I'm sick of having twiggy legs. I feel gross.. I don't think I have much muscle mass at all. I really don't know where to start.

My diet is all veggies for the next three weeks. And I have a weight of 133 lbs, with a height of 5'7

that's probably not much help, but could anyone set me in the right direction? :(

I have this guy that is visiting on January 10th, and I feel kind of slobbish. It's probably not enough time to get some real results...but what can I do to start? :)

All veggie diet won't give you muscle, nor is it healthy. A diet of all one thing, and eliminating other things entirely is a recipe for disater and will give you no results.

At 16, you need protein, starchy carbs, dairy, and fruit. You need to focus on BALANCED and HEALTHY diet, along with a good training program.

List what you eat, when you eat, and how it is prepared.

Then, list what you do workout-wise.

Welcome!

What Daisy said..... an all-veggie diet is NOT the way to go, especially at your age...

Welcome aboard Waka!

Can you post up what you are currently eating & if/what you do for training? Especially at your age it is soooooo critical to start eating the correct way to both get the body you want (especially w/ the peer pressure) but not develop bad dieting habits that you spend the rest of your life trying to recover from.

What I remember specifically at age 16 was that it was immediately post puberty -- I was 5'7", probably stayed around 140 lb, no chest & hips galore. All my friends were the same height, 125 lbs and cute as anything. I spent years either trying to starve myself, getting depressed, eating everything, suffering with acne, very shy, lousy self image, etc etc etc. Spare yourself the pain and let's set you on the right path!

Add some lean sources of protien to those veggies. like chicken breasts, egg whites, tuna, protein shakes, etc.

also, don't be afraid of carbs like oats and brown rice.
