Training when exhausted....

Due to finals this week I have barely slept or eaten most of the week. Im debating on whether or not I should lift tonight? Part of me says no, because I will have a horrible workout and I may do myself more harm then good. But the other part says that if we didnt lift on the days we did not feel 100% we would not make a lot of progress. Adversity is a part of training, but I also think it is important to make the distinction between "sucking it up" and being stupid. What is everyone's take?

I don't have finals or anything...but after a really mentally exhausting day, I always feel better after lifting. :smash:

Now if you are physically spent...maybe heed gettinlarger's advice and get some rest.

i honestly don't see any reason to working out. if you take a week off here and a week off there, and or if you cannot eat right on a daily basis. you must have both to achieve anything in my perspective. there is no reason to have one without the other. at least this is how i see it. but you could have different goals than me. so i guess it all depends on those. you might not want to gain muscle ect. just stay fit.

let your body rest up bro. its not even productive if you are mentally drained. sometimes its a stress reliever but if you are undernourished, lacking sleep AND stressed out from studying you will just not be up to par.

ive taken a few days off this week earlier to devote to studying, pure and simple. i was too stressed out worrying about when i was going to work out etc. then i told myself....next week when finals are way behind me.

im off to bed now to catch up on missed sleep.

peace

Yea definitely rest up bro. I'm glad I did instead of hitting the weights again right after finals. I got my sleep and eating habits back in line and everything is going great.

Sleep today...train tomorrow.
