The Ceremonial RE-adding of the Carbs!

So this is week 11 of my CKD and I'm pretty much at my goal of 10%-11%bf. So, now enter the s-l-o-w adding back of the carbs, as I enter a regular diet.

I'm thinking 1st week, 1st meal:
instead of bacon and eggs, using oatmeal w/ a little protein powder mixed in.
-rest of the meals same as the ckd. (keeping plenty of time between the carb intake and any fats)

2nd week:
same as 1st week, but adding post workout carbs to the protein intake. (this makes 2 outa 6 meals w/ carbs).

After this, I'll add carbs to each meal, each week, starting with the earliest meal and working my way through the day.
When carbs are all added back to my target amount per day
(about 130g), the last meal of course will have no carbs so I can try and stay lean.

Cals will be about 12xbw and will do enough cardio to see if I can't maybe pull bf down a tad more before I start bulking.

This won't start until 5/4/03 by the way.

Thoughts, ideas, differing options are all welcome.

sounds good
also cut down on the fats from meats and replace them with more good fats

check out hansel's eat lean feel happy thread, i'm currently doing that after a 4 month SKD and it works better than keto!

LOL....Funny you should mention that! That's exactly what I'm transitioning to. Good to hear it's treating ya right.

if you're a fan of t-mag check out john beradi's article on the don't diet diet (appetite for construction)
i am following this protocol which is very similar to the thread hansel has written
there's alot of info here that answers alot of q's u might have

Good advice on the Fats BA.

Congrats on your success Toozee. Oats with Protein mixed in is a nice way to start, one of my favorite treats! Dont overlook apples, they bloat me less than any other carb, keep me hydrated, and have alot of fiber.

You might want to consider checking out the aspects of the ABCDE diet. You have dieted for so long and are now very lean, if you overfeed like crazy it will have anabolic effects without much fat gain.

Hehe... was wondering where you were at.;)

Yeah, the fat change-over will be to olive oil and nuts. The protein will be lean cuts. Apples sound really good.

ABCDE diet? I'll do a search. I'm not familiar with that one.
Are you saying an overfeed of that style will caused increased hypertrophy? Sounds good to me...I'll check it out.

(Still at work though....may take awhile.)

If you do the ABC, you're still gonna have to be careful with the carbs until you get used to them. As for your re-intro plans, they look okay. Personally, I just add in vegetables and PWout carbs the first week, then add carbs to meal one the next week, two the next, etc.

With my insulin sensitivity being improved from low carbs combined with ALA I never had ad them back slowly at all. I went from like >20g per day to <400g per day no problem.

Ill never forget when my Doctors jaw dropped to the floor when he saw me about a month after I went off diet. I gained significant hypertrophy of my Pecs, quads, and shoulders with little or no fat gain at all. But after 1-1.5 months went by I started to finally notice some unwanted gains. I gained about 7-8lbs of lean mass.

Awesome results man. I was just throwing out a word of caution, the old "everyone's different" etc. I gain back alotta muscle after a diet, but with something like a keto, I think it best to basically diet an extra 2 to 3 weeks getting carbs near a normal level before trying something like that. It worked great for me the last 2 times I tried it. When I just flat out pumped up carbs I gained back the muscle but a fairly good amnt. of fat.
