Synvisc FTW!!!

I know I'm not crazy, Plunk. My doctor said some people feel something immediately but to expect maximum improvement in four to six weeks. For once I lucked out.

Like I said, I'm early stage, some doctors might just tell me to take Advil *shrug* I think my doctor's reasoning here is early intervention/slowed progression, plus without the pain you actually feel like doing something and exercise helps OA. He said he's got one pt. that's been on the stuff for five years and is happy as a clam. Who knows what they could come up with in five or more years? :whatever: It was less than ten years ago Synvisc was a series of three shots and now it's one big blast.

I'm actually pretty familiar with hyaluronic acid, I was taking it as a dietary supplement last year (didn't do shit that I could tell, but it makes a great moisturizer when applied topically).

I'm glad you are getting relief!

I too an a synvisc fan.

(and P.S., yes you are crazy. But it makes you fit in with the rest of us)

yup...stuff works great...didn't give me overnight relief though, but definitely made a difference...been getting it twice a year (i think) for a number of years...haven't been back for a while and i'm getting pretty stiff/achy...thanks for reminding me...oh and, they should call the device they use to administer the injection a "needle"...it looks more like a fuggin' PIPE...gotta be at least an 18 guage...aie carumba.
Honestly, after I laid down on the table I closed my eyes. I cannot look when things get injected, makes it hurt 100x more.

Hylauronic acid is THICK, like corn syrup (when I was taking it as a supplement I took the liquid form) no shock it needs one hell of a delivery system.

An 18 gauge, huh. Betcha it's bigger than that. He was doing PRP on my shoulder one time and I heard him say to the assistant "Give me that 13 gauge." I was lidocained up and trying to concentrate on my breathing so I just noted it and tried not to think about it too much.

I'd probably kook honestly if I heard someone gearin up the 13g anything but my skin (piercing)

I've never injected anything into my body
