stretch marks...

I recently got stretch marks around christmas time. They're around where my shoulder meets my biceps. They seemed to appear overnight.

I recently started a new routine and now I see slight signs of the beginning of new marks on my biceps.

What is this caused by, and what can I do about them? I've heard coco butter and vitamin E moisturizer, but are there any supplements specifically for this?

Why?

Stretch marks are simply scars of the dermal layer of your skin... my problem was I picked up heavy weight lifting about the same time I started accutane... dry, dry skin + quick growth = stretch marks. I've got em bad on shoulder/bicep joint and the quads. I picked up the weights for the first time @ 18 and thats when I started accutane... bad combo, but I did get big :)

Treatment?

I've tried everything... I still put Vit E lotion around them to help reduce the chances of any new ones, but the originals don't change. A tan helps them blend, but besides that, you're out of luck short of cosmetic surgery (laser). I've heard that Retin-A
could help, maybe you could try that. Hope this helps!

I used to have them on my breasts (on the tops)....Use a lot of lotion and a little bit of retin-a every other day to tighten and moisturize the skin.

RE:

Obviously caused by an increase/ decrease in size. Vitamin E oil not moisturizer works the best to minimize thier apprearance but as gymtime said you cant get rid of them completely unless you have surgery

I got um, and they just keep growing.
Anyone ever hear of vitamin K oil for stretch marks?

Not Necesarily!!!

so does everybody get them who works out?

It all depends on the elasticity of your skin, the best thing to do is as soon as you see them, when ther'e still pink, pile on the vitamin E oil, once they turn white-ish youve basically had it and nothing can remove them then :)
