Sources of protein besides meat & shakes, grains? etc.

You can make turkey meatloaf with oatmeal and have perfectly solid meals for a couple of days if you just eat some veggies with it. I love that shit.

can you post the recipe for this?

okay i looked it up on google, its a little green bean, but whats a good way to prepare lentil's? a soup id assume? what kinds of soups are good to make and healthy? also any other way to prepare them thats good?

Bro, the hard truth of the matter is, no matter how hard you try, you will always end up with animal-source proteins, simply because all vegetable proteins lack one or more essential aminoacids (incomplete).

You can complete these vegetable proteins by mixing them, but the aggravant is that you are also taking in an amount of carbs/fat that, if not properly planned, could add up quickly.

Note that you don't need eat the complementing proteins in the same meal (it was thought to be this way), it will suffice if you eat them during the same day, the body is smart enough to complete the proteins as required.

examples of complete protein:

1lb lean ground turkey
1 cup raw oatmeal (uncooked)
2 eggs beaten
1/2 onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
chopped sage to taste
salt and pepper
2 chipoltes and 2 tbsp low fat mayo whooped up in a food processor

Mix all but the last two up and put it in a baking dish. Brush the mayo on and put it in an oven at 375 until done. Good shit.

You can cook them and eat them plain, put them on salads, in soup, tons of stuff. They're very high in fiber too, 15g per serving.

plain huh? that sounds gross haha, i like the turkey recipie though, anything i can use instead of mayo? or just leave it out? thanks! great info guys, good thread here for sure. also i have nothing against animal proteins, infact i would eat only that if i could afford it, it just gets really expensive for a college student as im sure you all know it can be!

That amount of mayo on a recipe that size is insignificant. You don't even taste it either.
