someone explain Glycemic Index to me

I have been doing a lot of reading on this board and I am trying to figure out my diet for bulking..so please help.

First, I will start off by telling you that I am 27yo, 5'10", 185lbs, and about 15% body fat.

Can someone explain to me what exactly the glycemic index is, and how it effects building muscle, cutting fat, etc so I can affectively figure it into my diet.

This is what I got so far:

50/25/25

protein = 360g x 4 = 1440
carbs = 200g x 4 = 800
fat = 85g x 9 = 765

calories = 3005

3000/6 = 500 calories per meal every three hours

Good or Bad?

If all is good, then all I have to do is figure what to scrap out of my diet and when to eat it. That's why I need some knowledge of this GI stuff.

Thanks

the glycemic index=the higher a food's GI, the more effect it will have on your insulin level-therefore you want low gi foods in most cases-you should eat 6 times a day and to bulk you'd want 350g protein a day,150-250 carbs-simply go to mendosa.com and you'll see the details about the glycemic index

Ok, I am guessing that my dieting percentage is good.

So what is a medium to keep your GI. How do you do that?

per meal, daily? is 1000 a high number, whats the deal.
