Some THROWING Follies :)

dude first of all let me say that I can do no better.

second of all, god damn that was hilarious :lmao:

Rebecca looked like she threw the ball into a crowd of people the way she held her chin after the throw lolol

i use to throw the disc, ive never done what brian did in the first film.

my best PRs were freshman year ( last year b4 i started lax )

disc 92' 9" 1.6 Kilo
javelin 97' ?" dont know what i HS jav weighs
shot 30+ feet dont remember 12 pounds i think

I am basically their 'volunteer' coach. I don't get paid but it gives me A LOT to do while I am getting paid at work.

They all work hard and Brian is the best thrower. They all made some really good throws and I think that one of our female throwers threw a couple of 125+ discus throws. Brian made several 55+ throws with the shot also...

Chris has never had a coach and he is a freshman. He is throwing weight in the 46+ range.

Rebecca has talent but has never had a coach and has horrible form and cordination. Working on both.

There were not any 'follies' on the javelin or the shot...darn it.

Funny Bfold- when you first mentioned all of this, throwing is something I could see you having a lot of natural talent and understanding for...some of the reasons I thought this-

1)The camaraderie is very similar 2) you understand being highly technical WHILE performing at max intensity (or making small adjustments at full speed) 3) you understand how to view and critique videos of performance (huge in throwing) 4) you can understand critical performance aspects and judge performance and consistancy in an event which is a "one shot only" type thing...

anyway- i think you might be a natural waiting to happen :)

I hope so. The basketball players are a bunch of sissies...so are the football players. Wait...the football players are far beyond sissies. I have fun with those guys...bunch of panzies.

Throwing isn't a team sport either. You have to do the work and it is between you and a weight/implement. Nobody else is going to pick up the slack for you...

Not to dog Murray State, but the football program is stuggling big-time this season. Doesn't look like the team wants it bad enough.

Yep- throwing and track are a different kind of team sport- kind of like if you had a "team of powerlifters or strongmen" I guess it would be similar... you are all there with the same goal, but when it comes down to it- it is all you- the good and the bad...

it is all about potential and desire...

Lost 4 Offensive Lineman to graduation.
Starting QB has a torn ACL, and still plays some.
DT, strongest guy on team, is out with a dislocated ankle and broken femur.
OL, out with a broken bone in foot and hurt knee.
WR, out off and on with a concussion.
DL, torn ligaments in right hand.

We have had LOTS of injuries and we don't have an offense at all. On Wednesday afternoons they bring in the Scout Team Defense (walk-ons and red shirt freshman who don't even have a coach or know the plays) and the Starting O-Line goes against the Scout Team D. They put the ball at the 50 yard line and they run plays TILL the Offense scores. It took them 45 plays this past Wednesday. 10 plays from the 1/2 yard line.

It happens near every Wednesday just like this...and we do all we can to pump up the Scout Team and piss off the Offense.

OMG- this would be terrible to watch- you guys should throw on a helmet and jump in there to help out the scrubs...
