So is caffeine free diet mountain dew bad for you?

I've become tired of water. I've tried buying Fruit 2 0, those flavored water packets, crystal lite and after 1 and a half year of drinking nothing but water/milk i'm wondering if caffeine free diet mountain dew would hurt. Right now I'm at a level of maintence, I've had a lot of family sickness and not trying to cut/bulk but I'm still wondering if I started drinking it would it hurt me in any way. I did notice it contains aspartame and was thinking maybe I should buy diet 7-up since it uses splenda. The only problem is that I can't find it in caffeine free flavor. What I was thinking was drinking water all during the day like i normally do and having the diet mountain dew at night (approximately 8-10oz) with meal #5. Let me know what you think.

if your not on an extreme cutting diet or prepping for a show i wouldn't worry about it.

that is unless your drinking a whole bottle a day...

Diet 7UP is already caffeine free - or were you talking about the Mtn Dew??

Water should be your #1 beverage....but there's nothing wrong with having 1-2 cans of soda a day IMO (unless you're competing)

Cool, thanks for the advice. I've never competed before. I was just an fat person and decided to loose the weight (I lost 60 pounds) and wanted to live a healthy lifestyle. I got into running and lifting weights and now I am hooked into it. I basically want to live healthy and be around for a long time for my family.

I really dont think a diet soda is that bad, as long as you keep it to a minimum.. :)

A couple of cans of soda a day is fine.......Crystal Lite/4C/Wyler's Lite also make some good caffeine-free flavors.....

a couple of cans of soda a day is fine? i beg to difer. i jsut read a study that just 1 can of soda a day can pack 15 pounds on you in a year. so if your drinking 2 or 3 cans a day, tahts 30 to 45 pounds of fat in a year.

I was referring to Diet soda there.......now if that's that study that says Diet soda is the culprit of packing on 15lbs a year - I simply don't buy it.....
