Small Rant about Beer.

yep...we don't like ppl like this right?..haha!
Shit, to be honest i have been known to drink while working out on occasion. Most of my bench PRs have come this way. I guess the liquid courage takes all the mental aspects out of missing the lift.

You only live life once man, have a little fun and don't be so uptight about it. Nor does alchohol "completely destroy your gains" ... If you can't have a good cold beer, watch your favorite pro team on sunday, then you're a midget.

Its really all about what you want from your training. I admit I'm pretty hardcore about diet, because I've always believe diet is the MOST important thing in your training. 2nd being exercise and 3rd being supplementation. :Chef: I could easily have 3,4,5 beers on weekends, but I don't do it because its not beneficial to reaching my goal. If you don't have any real goals and just goto the gym to "check out chicks" then drink all the beer you want. and btw, next time read up before you says alcohol will not destroy your gains. Here's a link that you should read.

bro...good for you if you don't drink. most people have a few beers or drinks from time to time...b/c well...they're normal.

and the only serious concern here is missing your meals the next day, storing some extra cals and dehyrdation. as far as protein synthesis is concerned unless your excessively drinking...which i'm sure no one on this board does...i don't think it's a problem.

most people here are serious about there training otherwise they wouldn't be on this board...but they are also human and like to enjoy life sometimes...maybe you have no friends and have no one to drink with...who knows...if your not competeing...a few beers are fine. don't kill yourself over a few drinks now and again man...your gonna be 50 and be like "awe man...i wish i would have hung out and had more fun when i was younger."

Or if you want to have absolutely no life, and be a up-tight know it all all your life and base EVERYTHING around training, you can do that, but you're still gonna be old and skinny one day, so who cares? Btw, youre quote was people "completely destroy their gains by alcohol." I know many guys who drink every weekend, and a lot of them during the week and still get great gains. Hell, Arnold was known for drinking a lot during training, go tell him it was destroying his gains and get slapped in the face.

I am pretty surprised by the guys in the gym, saying they down a few beers after lifting. Or they drink on the weekend with the football games. I've never really understood why people spend all the time lifting, exercising to completely destroy their gains by alcohol. I've tried explaining to them that drinking and weight lifting / training does not mix but they don't listen. Does anyone here drink beer still? I personally don't want to put anything in my body thats is filled with toxins/empty calories. I do have a cheat meal once a week, but it has never consisted of alcohol.
If your goal is fat loss, and it's a given you are not the spawn of Wonder Woman & Hulk, THEN drinking post workout, ESP beer (or WINE) is a NO NO. Those two especially.

crump I cut out booze while cutting & in the beginning reserved it for one meal once a week (my cheat meal) THEN cut it out completely for a goal.
I don't need to drink to have a good time or a 'life' ...

I admire your dedication b/c I was once in that mindset ...but it's not the mindset everyone has.

If you want better sources on how alcohol effects the bod check these out

And in the future show a little intelligence and dont make comments of which you know nothing about. You know the old saying its better to not say anything and be thought a fool is better than opening it and confirming that you are.
