Shoulder Popped

Last night as i was stretching before doing Military Presses, my shoulder popped. It wasn't painful...I mean, it was a good hurt. When I was younger, I had a Dr. tell me that the same shoulder was frozen...(whatever the hell that means). Is it possible then, that as I was stretching, I did something to unfreeze it...??? I'm anxious to see if I will be more limber during my next shoulder session.

frozen shoulder is different. chances are if you had your arm over your head, your shoulder thawed long ago.

*** Apparently these sounds are the result of ligaments and tendons being
"plucked" by adjacent tissues or bony prominences and, unless accompanied by
pain or dysfunction, are no cause for alarm. 'Popping' of joints has been
ascribed to changes in joint pressure causing cavitation or release of
gaseous bubbles in the joint fluid. These inner inharmonious inner noises are
very common and are not necessarily associated with any pathology.

On the other hand, deliberate 'popping' of the knuckles and neck joints has
been criticised because the marked cavitation resulting from regular and
frequent use may be associated with collagenous tissue damage within the
joints.

Grinding or "crepitus" within joints (such as the patellofemoral or knee
joint), however, is associated with deterioration of the cartilaginous lining
of the joints and is not regarded as normal.
