I worked out at Gold's Venice for about ten years. I can't say all pros are gay... but the numbers are much higher than in the general population... I would say close to 50/50.
Oddly enough, it is the supposedly "straight" pros that I have heard the most turning-tricks-in-West-Hollywood stories about. I was also told the going rate is only $500 for boinking a pro. (This is gossip.)
One friend of mine was rated in the top 5 bodybuilders in the world... and he was making only $50,000 a year... prize money and endorsements combined. Given the amount of money these guys have to spend on drugs, training, food, etc... with little time to work a day job... well... go figure.
Tom rince once tried to strangle a friend of mine right in the middle of Gold's when he heard my friend said, "Bodybuilding isn't a sport. It's a gay beauty contest."
some people are very thin skinned.
