Well -- I guess not to "one up you" -- but I've been deep in the tech industry for 20 yrs -- the chances I've had to discuss things and deal w/ some of the really cool things that you can do - esp since I'm on the product development side --- are just mind blowing. However the situations I"ve been involved in over the last 5 yr have had amazing potential but the dipshits running the operations didn't seem to think that the technology and platform that their whole business runs on isn't important....

I'd rather be where people actually see that their shit ain't gonna work unless the underlying technology works and works well...

Anyway ...

gotta get my day started here - just finished AM cardio a while ago, need to find a freekin doorknob replacement today....
Yeah I've delt with really cool things..... That's when I was dealing with and while I was in the military... faster paced, blow stuff up, in and out.... Now I'm in the research and development stuff and it's all I can do to hold my head up. Things are soooo slow and dealing with the government (not that military isn't gov't) is just a big conglomerated mess. Toooo friggin slow.
Good luck to you though

LOL @ blow stuff up. I do hear you there. Govt.... my first job was working for the Space Station program. We spent 9 months developing a transponder system. Then that got back burnered & we started writign test software for it. Then the funding got pulled and the staff went from 250 to 25 & and I moved into "network support".

The stuff I want to get into is stuff that the technology is finally here for (for ex, I took a class in "Multimedia" in 1993 and my university was doign research on HDTV. Now that stuff is finally mainstream and a viable distribution route for video / communication / entertainment.. SOOOO COOL!

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

THAT is VERY cool... intrigued.... I'd love to hear your thoughts on fiber optics as a data transport medium - fellow techie (well ok, i'm not much anymore but I like to read about it still :) )

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

I've heard they can do it, but that sure does thicken the plot of convergeance & who owns the distribution path doesn't it?

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

If you want, after the show if you and a bunch of people wanna go to a Sushi bar... I would GLADLY take you! I know you might not have a ride.

Also, if you need a ride to Paige's house (sat.) let me know, MH and I can take you and Tami... no prob. We are going :)

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound
