Hi..I dont usually post in here but i figured i would for a change and to maybe get some different opinions..
ok in the past i have had like a million eating disorders ranging from anorexia to overeating...this past week has been my first week of sticking with a meal plan in over 2 years...i am pretty proud of myself...hehe...
it has been such a great week...i have been so happy and it feels so good...and also my period returned for the first time in like 2 years which is exciting bc i am only 18 and its not healthy not to have it...so anyway...i was all good till today when i had a huge junk food binge here in my dorm room but i have no clue what triggered it...strange, yes i know...
well i plan to get back on the wagon for the rest fo t he day and continue tomorrow but i was just curious what u ladies thought...could it be a pms kinda thingy that triggered it???
also could u look at my diet....this is it...i am trying to cut up bc i have been compulsivly eating/binge eating for the past year and its gotta go...
meal 1: 1/2 c of irish oatmeal w/ 1 scoop whey and 1/2 bannana
meal 2 : 1/2 whole wheat pita w/ tuna and fat free mayo
meal 3 : 1/2 c cottage cheese (low fat) w/ 1/2 green apple
meal 4 : tripple threat chocolate shake
meal 5 : chicken salad ( chicken, full fat mayo, and celery)
meal 6: shake
lemme know ur thoughts...thanx a million girls
luck and love always

diamonddiceclay is right. if u find that too hard to stick with, though, i think it's okay to stick with what u got. if u've only been able to stick with 1 week in the past 2 years of a healthy diet, and u think ur able to stick with what you wrote, then go 4 it. once u've got that down without binging, then there is plenty of room to get more strict. maybe u could keep some fruits or veggies around for when u feel like cheating.. stuff urself with healthier stuff instead. also, are u getting enough water? if u try to drink at least a gallon of water a day, u may not be hungry enuff to binge.

good luck, and keep visiting us over here whenever u need some encouragement :)

oh, also it might help to give urself one cheat meal a week.. when u want to cheat.. just remind urself that that meal is coming up on whatever day u've chosen... just make sure it's only one reasonable size meal :)

Congrats on getting your period back!! That's awesome. I know it doesn't feel like it sometimes but it's scary when it goes away. I can relate as I've been working on ed recovery for a couple of years. Also congrats on making a decision to fight for your body instead of fighting your body.

Your diet looks good. I'll agree with other that eating as much real food as possible is ideal. Ultimately, you need to do what's convenient for you. I've always loved candy and to help me with that craving, I like to have high protein/low carb bars. I also like shakes when I'm in a rush.

Binges happen-- especially to people who've had long term unhealthy relationships with food. I'll second the idea of scheduling in a cheat meal. I let myself have whatever I want for dinner (normal kinds of portions-- not like a gallon of ice cream and a whole pizza). It makes it a lot easier for me to stick to my diet when I know that I can have old "comfort" foods on Saturdays. Again, whatever works best for you.

What is your workout schedule like?? Mine has definitely improved since getting tips from this place. I know where you're coming from cookie-- that was my life for a loooong time. If you need anything, feel free to PM or e-mail me. Keep it up sweetie!!

Ugh, I can stick with a healthy diet on good days.. but when things throw me off (like massive hormonal imbalance when switching bc pills & being awfully bloated from the crazy PMS in the interim) or really upset me... like being upset with my gym as both a fitness center of low qualty AND an employer of low ethics, then I have trouble holding it together.

Then I can feel like, 'forget it' I never abandon working out - love it too much. But it's easy to abandon clean eating, sometimes I just don't WANT to exert the effort to resist the junk. Sometimes I feel like I'm just not that strong mentally.

Yikes, it's been a lousy past couple weeks. :( Top it with the fact that the indulgences have immediately put few lbs of FAT on & my breasts have thus gotten bigger & my boyfriend is THRILLED with the change... :bawling:

thanx girls..
ummm the thing about the carbs is thats what i tend to binge on so i figure including them in there is what is helping me stay with it.....
also i am in college so it is hard to keep even this food accessable living in a dorm room...but i bought like mass tuna and oatmeal and stuff hahaha...yes, i am a dork...hehe..
the shakes are merely for convenience.......
i am going to try to keep with this until the beginning of march (spring break) and from there see if i can get more strict if i am not seeing the best results...
thanx again everyone
