Quad Size Imbalance (pic), How to remedy?

Man I had knee surgery in my right knee and my quad shrunk up like a BIACH. It was SO noticeable it was crazy. It's much better now, still a little smaller, but better. Like everyone else says, do SQUATS!! They're what's going to make you grow. You can try single leg presses if you want, but I'd continue to do both right now. Maybe do some single leg extensions, but for now, work on growth. It's not too late, just start off your workout with squats and move on from there. Good luck bro!

do you want to compete some day?

Wouldn't want to rule it out. I'm a really small-framed guy with crappy innate strength, but one thing I do have is decent muscle shape.

I didn't say for him to stop squatting, but he should incorporate 2-3 sets of 10 of single leg work after his squats.

Bulgarian squats are ace for crushing the VMO.

More importantly then the size imbalanceis, "is there a strength imbalance?" If that is the case, then I would go to unilateral movements, to even out the strength distribution. Then, when you return to bilateral moves, your strength will be greater, leading to better gains in hypertrophy.

well its rough because some guys naturally just have one arm or leg longer than the other, which can definately throw things off-- excercisize mechanics, growth etc. I didnt really notice a substantial difference though.

Half an inch difference is nothing for your quads, maybe you could tell that difference on the calves...

Agree with everyone to worry about symmetry later, just work on mass now, they look the same to me too.
