I am new to the forum.....I have been weightlifting off and on for 8 years.....Currently I weigh 209 lbs and I am 5"9.....I am happy with my size for a most part except my belly........I am getting back in to lifting.....I currently am trying to run 1 mile and then do my lifting....(not always do I hit a mile)

I just started takin cell mass creatine before my workout and 100% whey protein shake roughly 3 times a day....It is only 20gs......

I really want to lose my belly fat and BULK UP HUGE!!!!!

I started watching what I am eating also.....I am really trying to get into eating 6 times a day but that is hard due to I work overnights and have a 2 month old at home.......

Any ideas or opinions?????

1.) Get a solid, clean diet.
2.) Lift core exercises heavy and hard
3.) success!!

browse these boards for some examples of 'clean' diets..and id say eat no less than 2300cals a day..

I am confused. Are you asking about bulking or cutting diet cause you can't do both? If you want to loose fat around belly then you got to do cardio and watch your food intake. If you want to bulk then that belly most likely isn't goin anywhere and may get bigger. You got to pick one.

Really? Ya I was hoping I could do both......Cause I want to get bigger but I DON'T want my belly getting any bigger

What if I kick it up hardcore on the running and ab training? Would that allow me to bulk up but still lose belly fat?

Aside from some extreme exceptions (amazing genetics/ young or a beginner in weightlifting / steroids), the following holds true:

-If you eat the same amount of calories every day, and every day consists of the same type of activity, those calories are considered your maintenance calories. ex: If you're 175 lbs, eat 2,000 calories a day, and don't gain or lose a pound, then 2,000 is your maintenance calories

-In order to gain muscle, you need to consume (and retain) MORE than your maintenance calories.

-In order for your body to begin using fat for energy (cutting your belly), you'll need to introduce a caloric deficit (eating LESS than maintenance calories).

In conclusion, you can't do both at the same time. Figure out what you want to do first: lose some fat or put on some muscle. You might accomplish a bit of the other along the way, but you'll tailor your diet and training towards whichever goal you choose. When you've put on enough size, or cut enough of your fat and want to choose the other, you can slowly adjust your calories and still retain most of the progress you've already made.

Do cardio after you lift - better workouts and you'll benefit from them a lot more by adding more muscle. Deadlifts, squats, presses.
