Another idea for conditioning for pull ups is to use an incline bench...you put one foot slightly resting at the top of the incline and just use that as an extra stability and push to get you up, if you need it. Or use the foot to get you up and then do the negatives on the way down to help strengthen yourself. It's a goal of mine too, to be able to do them but I still haven't reached it yet. You just have to be careful of injury by pushing too hard on these. Patience and time and you'll get there. :)
 
I really need to start working up to body weight wide grip myself. This gave me a reminder and some motivation.

Thanks so much CG!! I appreciate it. Would negatives be better than just trying to do them by myself with help? Or maybe a combination of both? Yep I definitely want to avoid injury!! Do NOT want to be injured. How are you currently doing pullups?

Lol!! Sorry!! Figured itd be easier!! Sorry zed! I know I'm hardheaded!!

Ok I have my knees slightly bent..ever so slightly...legs about shoulder width apart. Feet straight. Bend over keeping a flat/straight back (no arching) with abs tight...moving the bar as close to my legs as possible down stopping about to the laces on my shoes and then come up.

Does that make any sense?

Jen now you got me wanting to do pull ups!!! When I was training for OCS, I had to do a 70 second flex arm hang, so never really focused on actual pull ups... If I wasn't already warm under the covers, I would get the pull up bar out of the garage and give it a go! Lol! You sure know how to motivate me!!! ;)

Yes!!! That's awesome!! Love motivating others because y'all motivate me daily!! Let's everybody do pullups!! I want to get me a pullup bar for my house so I can practice at home!! Yep. We are all going to be doing pullups!!

Warm covers...sounds nice!!!
