I will ask, but I doubt it. They will probably put up a flyer for me, though.

I don't get everyone's hostility toward me, either. It isn't like a beat the damn animal. I did RESCUE her butt from the shelter afterall, or she would have been dead years ago.

It's interesting how easily feathers get ruffled for a topic that shouldn't. :whatever:

It's all good... either way I hope that you can find the cat a good home. If not... oh well. My son would be above all else and I am not the least bit ashamed to say that here on the internet, or out loud to someone's face. The fact that you have given the animal such wonderful home for so long already says more about you than you needed to say. :)

Hey she said she hates the pet.. If you hate the pet the pet probably senses that and is not happy. Their are also no kill shelters that will keep the animal until it is adopted.

heatherrae said:
That's okay. They said that they don't know of any no-kill shelters in Ky. She said it "just isn't feasible." She said that there used to be one in Frankfort, but that they are stringent about the requirements of what animals they would take. It was very hard to get an animal in there. SIGH. She didn't think that they even exist anymore.

Saying it's not feasible is bullshit. There are no kill shelters all over the place around here.

Another thing to look into...if you have any petsmarts in the area, they often do things in conjunction with rescue agencies like the one I volunteered with. These agencies may not have websites I can find through a quick google. Worth a check.

These are a couple you could call and find out about their kill/cage policies:

http://www.pawspets.org/Index.htm
http://www.lifehouse4animals.org/ <~~that one's definitely no-kill but it seems there may be a problem of room available. It might be a situation where you would have to wait for space to open up.

Neither are directly by you, but they seem to be in the viscinity.
Thanks, I read the info at this one in Frankfort. I'll email Mindy today on it. They said on the relinquishment page that they will also try to find a home right away if you can keep it with you until they find it a home. There is no waiting list for doing it that way. I'll try that.

drive the cat 20-30 miles from your house and set it free.. The cat will find a new home. Their instinct tells them to go where they smell food.

Jesus christ, you guys act like I abused the freaking little monster.

Nothing could be further from the truth. don't forget I RESCUED HER from the pound, have fed her, gotten her shots, petted her, doted on her, etc. In return she had RUINED thousands of bucks worth of stuff.

and I'M THE BAD GUY HERE?

SHEESH

I did not say that at all HR, YOU yourself said you HATE the cat - I only suggested there are others that may be more loving (at this point esp.). You didn't say you did all that for the cat and I'm sure she appreciates it.

HR, I believe you "love" animals, but wow, you ran off in no time to bring the cat to the shelter? That feels like love to me!

Yep, now this will be my last post in here. I feel sick to my stomach that I walk the planet with such mean souls!

That's messed up. It's a house cat.

Are you like those people who just drop their dogs on the side of the highway when they become too much of a burden to them?

Good luck HR finding your cat a loving home.

a little rosemary and some white wine , stew for a few hours.

Hey - you decided to keep your son and not abort him and the cat was there first so that automatically means you ALL HAVE to be trapped in hell.

You terrible bish - you deserve a oneway ticket to hell.

Goodness... I don't get all the hallubahloo. :whatever: Why do some people get offended when I say that I value the life of a human child more than the life of an animal?

But in the end the thread was a good one because of the information that Nef furnished. It helped you out and it will help me out when we go to get my girls and who knows how many other people like us didn't know about such shelters and programs? I know that I'd never heard of them before.

heatherrae said:

In my opinion, you are not seeing this fairly, the health and welfare of the child and the cat are not mutually exclusive. We care about both.

Come over to my house. You'll meet a bunch of cats that were abused and dropped off in my area. They were outside in -30 below starving to death. I took them in and took care of other people neglect.

I'm totally disgusted!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I RESCUED HER AND GAVE HER A HOME ALL OF THESE YEARS despite the fact that she has ruined numerous comforters, items of furniture, carpets, etc. I have made sure her health was in tip top shape. I feed her the best of the best food and have never hit her or abused her in ANY WAY!

I have been looking for a home for her for OVER A YEAR!

My son is ALLERGIC and it is exacerbating his ear problem!

Still I didn't leave her at that pound today because they are a kill facility!

I didn't leave her on the side of the road!

As a matter of fact, I took her home, let her out of her carrier and gave her a little pat on the back.

JESUS CHRIST, please tell me why you think that is so terrible???? I'm not abusing her and never have. I have kept her and treated her well because I wouldn't give her to anyone but a good person/family.

I'm really sort of flummoxed why I'm the bad guy in her eyes. ???? I'm still waiting to hear what I did to the cat that is so damned terrible, besides rescuing her from certain death a few years ago. :whatever:

Now, I'm a "mean soul?"

JEEZ!

There is actually a disorder pets can have called ‘Separation Anxiety Disorder’. Sounds like what your cat has HR. I read a story not long ago about a guy who rescued a dog from the pound. Whenever the guy would leave his house to go to work the dog would destroy it, crap and piss all over. And from the story he said the dog would shit in places any normal dog would not. Hitting the walls, drapes, bed and pillows. He said he had the dog two weeks before he had to give it back.

Well, if she has it she got it the first day out of the shelter. Seriously, I just can't continue to care for this problem, no matter what the cause of the problem is.

Hell if I know.

I suppose the difference is that you care what they think?

All you gotta do is remove the *you care* part of that sentence and then EVERYONE is happy! :)

See the difference - THEY CARE that I value the life of a human child more than I value the life of ANY animal and am not afraid to express that on the internet or in real time... and that is why they feel the need to try to put me down and/or insult me. Whereas I DONT CARE that they DONT value the life of a child more than they do the life of an animal so I... don't care. LOL ... you don't see me getting upset about this, do you?

Matter of fact I think it is sort of amusing in a strange sort of way.

No problem. I never want another nasty animal in my house ever again.

That is what I told my girls the day after I put my ex out. LOL

"No more nasty animals in our house EVER again. The animals belong on the outside of our home. While the HUMAN BEINGS will stay on the inside."

... but I kept Miss Kitty. She was the awesomest pet EVER... 'course the ex made her disappearededed after the kids sold him out to DYFS.

We got over it.

I feel ya.

I would think more people would be bitching at me about the fact that I have subjected poor Devin to living with a filthy animal that can't manage to use the litter box and to whom he is allergic than the fact that I'm looking for a home for my cat.

How is me looking for a home for my cat some sort of abuse though, is all I'm trying to figure out.

See now, dear lady I would never bitch to you about how YOU CHOOSE to run your household as I do not live there. But yea, I would be scratchin my head over that now that you mentioned it.

My son or AN ANIMAL....

Yea, REAL TOUGH decision.

NOT.

Get rid of the pussy that will free up the litter box for devin

Wrong, the cat would end up back at heather's place within a few days. You clearly know nothing about cats.

She is a SNEAKY little bi-atch. I don't think she hates me. I think the issue is that unless her litter is 100% new, she doesn't want to go in a dirty litter box.

Been there...I switched to Swheat Scoop natural wheat litter and never had that problem again.

I have some old throw rugs that the cats go to town on. They never once scratch anything else or they get placed in the cross-face crippler

She won't even go 10 feet away from the house. She has always been indoors. I wouldn't even keep her outdoors 24/7 if I had the ability to do it.

hmmmm...i'll look for that in the interim of finding her a new home. it couldn't hurt.

Ok, I read the first three pages...dont' have the time to read it all.

Just get rid of it. It's not worth the aggravation...nobody should have to put up with that filth and destruction. ESPECIALLY with a baby in the house.

If you don't get rid of that damn cat, you're a bad mommy. Sorry...it's true. :)

of course i do. I don't go around kicking her or anything. lol.

I really don't show her or the dog the attention that I used to show her b/c I've had a baby at home with no one else to watch him. So, the dog and cat got put on the back burner since the baby.

is your cat jealous of devin? did the cat pee everywhere before or after he came into the picture? my one cat was extremely jealous when we got our Chihuahua and started doing that out of jealousy. we had a dog when our son was born who would tear up my sons clothes and toys but nothing else. we had a doggy door on the back sliding glass door and the dog would take my sons stuff outside and bury it but like i said ONLY my sons stuff. sadly we had to get rid of that dog.

My Old Grump had two beautiful Rottweilers a male and a female, or maybe two females, can't remember now. he had a hyuge property and they were wonderful pets who he talks about fairly frequently with great fondness. As the story goes one day while he was either putting food or water into the bowls or had to reach for the bowl for some reason one of the dogs growled at him. He immediately went and got his pistol and shot both then disposed of the bodies.

They are animals.

They can be replaced.

No way that any animal would be put before a human life in our world. If others want to do that, good for them. But I refuse to feel like there is something wrong WITH ME for having human life on one tier and the life of animals on another.

Great story BM!
You just said anyone can be replaced. That everyone was disposable!
So why not shoot some people. I know a few that need a bullet to the head

E, I always stuck up for you, but now I see why peeps were always against you.
You take something and if somone disagrees with you, you go over and over and over it and then you need to come back and add more.
Not sure if you're just totally immature or truly disturbed!

There is no need to make light of cooking cats and shooting dogs.

But anyway, you could care less what I or others think or say of you so this post should fly right above ya!

No one said something is wrong with you for believing that, but there is something wrong with any human who believes they are superior to other forms of life all because they have a brain/ego.

I think life has hardened you so much you can't see past your own existance.

My bad... I've been corrected.

The were NOT his rottweilers. They were great animals. They were dobermans. One nipped at him when moved their bowl of food.

They were damned expensive too...

Yeah yeah, the last time I saw PETA peeps was when someone said I let my Rots chase a neighbors bunny wabbit. Course they lived on 40 acres and the neighbor raised wabbits, little furry cute bunnies that were so cute. Little furry balls of fuzz. Some with floppy ears and some with little ears.

But they used to get out of their cages and come a visiting, my dogs said "ok, these guys look like food, I think I'm gonna kill em and bring em to dad."

So they did. After they showed me they got to eat em. Well that was what they did before stupid humans cooked for them,l made them fat and fed them rice and corn. Ya ever see a dog in a corn field with an ear of corn? Stupid humans

So I asked the PETA peeps if they were against all use of animals, then they need to get plastic belts, cloth interiors for the Hummer, not feed their cats food cause they make it from lamb and beef and horse. (rice, corn and beans too) Stupid humans, cats kill birds to eat and mice to eat, ever see a cat in a rice paddy waiting for a meal of fried rice? Stupid humans.

So the PETA peeps too their leather belts, sandles, purses and wallets got into their Hummers with the leather seats and leather straps and went to Outback to have a steak...

The bottom line is the dobbies snapped at me when I moved her bowl of food, she nipped at me when I moved her bone and that was it, .45 to the head of them both. No suffering no pain, just dog's gone bad.

Any questions?

:Boomstick

And Blue, the same asstards also said some pretty mean things to you as well so what would your point be? What would possess you to make such a comment on an already ridiculous thread? Those same negative dipshits are no longer allowed on elite or have run away with their littleboy dicks between their legs. So WTF are you talking about, "Now you see why people used to gang up on me?"

Geeze, first you call me (not directly just people who think like me LOL) delusional. Now you can "see why internet dipshits" used to gang up on me? There was a time (much like NOW) when NO ONE EVER got ganged up on because that lowbrow bullshit was not tolerated.

I've not taken a single thing you've said personally nor have I put down ANYONE but merely defended my point of view intelligently. Yet you seem to get more and more incensed with every one of my posts.

I don't get it. :whatever: Why do you get so insulted? Is it that I don't share your point of view or that I don't feel the need to make any apologies for it? Or is it simply that I don't feel the need to *seem to support* MY point of view by putting down others who do not feel the same?

Either way, you are free to feel as you like. Rock on. :)

Let's see... I shot two dogs that were going bad, I lived in the mountains by myself. Two dobbies can kill a man pretty damn quick. Blu takes exception as what I do with my animals. HR has a son, a young real new human son that is allergic to cats. I am sure he is damn glad the cat is there. I get sick just being around cats. So She keeps the cat cause her son doesn't care and HR wants it to have a good home.
Blu thinks the cat has some ailment even though HR says it is fine. Good thing god made cattle out of steaks or we would all be eating dirt cause vegetables have souls too. And the only reason this thread isn't about why do we kill cattle is cause they are ugly and don't puke, rip up carpet, pee on couches and few people are allergic to em. And besides Blu hasn't had a ton of em and HR couldn't care less if they had a good home or not.

Geezzzzzz

All life is sacred. How on earth could you advocate such inhumane activities? Were you picked on as a child? Aren't you afraid that you will go to hell or that EF *might* think less of you? Would you shoot your kid if he bit you? Surely he would just need a little extra love and attention or maybe that animal will get the love and attention it deserves in the next home?

People who take biters back to the SPCA so they can move on to an unsuspecting new victim should be shot as well!!!

You are correct! People that allow bad animals to option of really hurting someone should be spayed as not to pollute the already screwed up gene pool.

Two well trained animals that their main job was protection are not something to mess with. Once a Dobbie disobeys even one command or exhibits bite behavior ir is time to so exactly what I did.

The two animals grew up together and were teained as a team, they were 7 years old and very strong and healthy.

If one animal decided to take me or anyone else down that would be the last thing I would ever see. I would be food for days. And still dead.

So animals are animals and here to serve us. Just like those ugly cattle we eat that are made of steaks and roasts.

Or at least something functional:

My the way Dale, my friend breed Dobermans are you are 101% incorrect.
Dobermans are the most loyal breeds if raised correctly.
You were either not a good owner or the dog was ill.

A CANDID LOOK AT DOBERMAN TEMPERAMENT
by John T. Brueggeman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although Doberman temperament has undergone a gradual but steady decrease in overall sharpness during recent years, today's Doberman is still a dog that requires intelligent handling and does offer good protection for his owner, family, home, auto and business. But due to his energetic nature and super intelligence, many people do not make good owners although he isn't nearly as difficult to own as he was in those earlier days when the Doberman earned his reputation as being the sharpest thing on four feet! The uneducated public still harbors a pronounced fear of the Doberman Pinscher, and strangely enough, this has been a lasting blessing for the breed. But how then, can the Doberman breed with such a reputation, be one of the ten most popular breeds in the United States today.
The answer is simple enough. The Doberman has always been, for the most part, extremely loyal and very trustworthy to his master to a greater extent than most other breeds. He is also a dog that becomes an important and enjoyable part of the family. He requires close association with those he loves and when this love is present, his temperament makes him a natural protector.
