In my opinion they'll end up looking even better when the last layer of fat comes off. The "round" ab look, I think what you're referring too, comes from the GH use in bodybuilding. Bigger ab muscles looks great after all the dieting is done. :)

Thanks! I am going to try tomorrow, with tomorrow actually being my leg/ab day.

I love it "the last layer of fat" LOL, try the last three or four layers LOL.

What is GH?

Ah don't worry the last 3 layers will soon be 2 and then one. :) Happy leg and ab day tomorrow. :)

Well, did I catch shit. :worried:

The cops were checkin out my basement & they couldn't miss it. There were wight plates strewn all over. Of course the 5 & 10 pounders were out for the count. Bent & bleeding on the rack. Even the 25's were wimpering, some hiding in the corners & under my work bench. One 50 was wailing trying to get away when it saw me. I swear to God it was trying to get in the fridge.
I pwned every last one of those fricken plates & it was goooooooooooooooooood. :chomp:

Have a good night all. I'm gone for a hose down. Get the stink of plate blood offa me.

Define "they."

If by they you mean the "peaks" of "individual" ab muscles... yeah they will round out... all 6 or 8 or 12 ..however many you've got :)

no, I actually ment the other way, I read somewhere if you do ab exercises the wrong way you'll get a buddha belly, kinda V shaped. Really scared about that happening!

honey just went to get the treadmill, then off to the gym, then back to try it out! I LOVE IT!

CK - for me if I train obliques heavy ... I look like this

or at least you should .. the "V" taper :)

I hit upper body hard to bring out my lats so it helped SHRINK the appearance of my taper and not "pole" like ...

I don't think you can get a buddha belly unless really you eat for one (ala fat) or you were just not genetically blessed in that area (granted you are diet & training) ...

What specifically were you told? and I'm curious if your trainer told you this lol ;)
 
I rocked at the gym today, my legs are burning!!!!! :)

well I did the abs, but I am not feeling it???? maybe I will later????? I feel it more in my back???????

The lady at the gym showed me another one too that you use a barbell and go down to the ground and come back up. Haven't talked to my trainer since she told me she was going to build a new program, arrrrr

I also laid in a V and held the cables and brought myself down to lying position. Not sure how many sets or reps so I did 3 sets of 15 for each.

Off to try my treadmill, apparently I can hook it up to the internet and download music! can't even post pictures so this should be interesting. LOL Oh yeah, it also has built in fans!

Are you going heavy on abwork? (Not saying that you need to ... )

Just b/c you don't 'feel it' doesn't mean it's not working :)

If you feel more in your back, your form may have been a little off... or back was overcompensating ... even on decline situps, where you can tuck your legs under on that bench, I have to hold my hips to make sure I do NOT use my hip flexors (which is basically impossible for ME at times, esp when doing weighted declines... ) ...

Gurl when you're on that treadmill you shouldn't be able to focus on DL'ing music ... intervals should keep you busy ... :velvett:

that is ok, I need all the help I can get, you saw my pictures.

I am going to take close up shots of my abs now and in 3 weeks. I wasn't going heavy at all before with the abs but the trainer only gave me 2 exercises to do once a week. Now like the saying goes the first to come is the hardest to leave (quads, abs) and they are really starting to piss me off.

I do so many squats/lunges/leg presses... on and on and run 3km/5km every fucking (sorry for my language) day, walk on an incline of 15 for 30 minutes , do 2 HITTS during the week, and it is soooo slow. and I know the diet thing, but I can't get a much cleaner diet, unless I cut my calories down even more.

Kay my tantrum is done.

oh yeah I forgot to mention, I fell flat on my face doing the last rep of the rolling barbell thing, I was laughing so hard and so was everybody else!

I love it! It has all these neat programs on it. I always used manual at the gym cause the programs never worked without a heartrate. But this one has the HITTS in it, marathon training, and you can make programs for yourself. Plus you can hook it up to the tv, computer, cd player and it will play music and .... it has fans and a thingy for an aromatherapy thing (don't know what that is) you can switch it to miles/or km (haven't figured that out yet). Can you tell I love it!

What is a recombent bike? Is that one where you sit lower down?

A recumbent is where you sit lower, takes the pressure(for men especially) off of the, ah, equipment.


Just do it! I find especially being busy and if I miss the gym I can just go downstairs and do my cardio (less guilt) when I was living with my parents, got used to one.

I think there's somethign to be said for a balance of ab training - sure you have to diet down to get the fat layer off, but I think (this is my opinion and nuttin else) that its a combination of genetics and time spent on abs - not doign thousands of crunches, but rather work over time, i.e. years -- just like developing thicker muscle bellies in your biceps. Esp for women, if you do a crapload of heavy ab work, I think eventually that just makes you thick - its nto just the 6 pack that gets hit, but also the oblilques. The last thing you want is a blocky look - but also to get those nice deep abs, I really think its a balance of genetics and work over time.

I'd be happy to hear somethign from anyone else.
