I made my first arrest last night

bigmann i just don't see how you in good faith can admit to using illegal drugs, then go and arrest someone for illegal drugs.
further you called drug users piece of shits
why is you drug use respectable, but others are not?

like i said go to the local gyms and request blow jobs for shots of test and see how it goes. ill wait here

maybe he doesn't want to have sex with teenage boys..and you can't provide any evidence that says he does. your arguments are the logical equivalent of "well he committed this crime, so he's definitely going to try and commit every other crime of equal or lesser severity." I think because you have a kid you're now trying to relate every legal and moral issue to him. It's totally reasonable for you to want shady characters like this guy off the streets given your situation in life, but don't act like you represent some sort of objective morality.

"I tell YOU what", go out and get Certified, be on the streets(as a full police officer) for longer than 3 months(at least 5 years), learn to see people as people and not "some drug addict" (because they might not be any different than you if they hadn't made a bad decision or 2), realize that being Sgt. where you're at just might not mean "you rock" quiet as much as you give yourself credit for, figure out a way to justify using illegal drugs yourself..........and come back and tell us how it goes.

none of these are such bad things, but being a little more humble would get you a lot farther, with a lot less pain.

also i get paid more in the postion im in than if i were a cop but with a hell of a lot less stress and danger......bwahahahahahahahaha

keep it about the money, but TRY to keep it from being your life. keep your family as your life, if that's possible in that profession. it's a profession that seems to take over a life so slowly that a person doesn't notice it's happening, and when they do it's too late. not about the thrills huh? yeah, ok, whatever.

you were right about one thing, not to happy with my life. but it's a lot better than it was. and i am doing my best to make it better. take a wild guess what got me there.

thats one of the reasons i probably will never be a cop. my major in school right now is sports medicine so after im done i will be at a crossroads to which direction that takes me. for now i like the job i have, but its like bouncing, gets old after a while. i hate dealing with people like this guy.

man if you actually knew me you would understand it is so not about the thrill. the thrill for me is doing the best job atmy job i can. even when i was in the navy it was the same way. watching a helicopter fly away after i fixed it is a feeling i will never know again. that was a thrill, especially at a time of war.

i bounced for many years and only had to punch 1 guy and that was to prove a point. other than that no its so not about the thrill. my family comes first in my mind and always will.

I'm sure every job would get old sooner or later. but at least in sports medicine you can make better money for your family, less, dangerous, less stress, better hours, and you can have a real life. just ask those guys you said you worked with that have been there for 20 years and see what they say.
dealing with those kinds of people and worse on a daily basis will wear a man down, and can change him forever. be more. you owe it to your family and yourself.

i agree, but i knew he was minipulating the homeless by what i saw and what others told me about him doing before. to me the weed was the same as the clothes he had in the trunk of his car. he used both of them to make the homeless people around downtown do things for them.

as far as the others that have been there forever i kind of feel bad for them. yea its a state job, awesome benifits and retirement plans but like you said im better than that. i put in for sergeant thinking i had absolutely no chance of making it. i mean come on ive only been there for three months. but i see the wear and tear the job brings on the guys i work with. half are single and the other half have been seen by me macking it to other females then discussing what they are going to do with them outside of work. i left the club scene for that same reason. too many bad influences. the main reason i feel bad for the guys that have been there forever is the fact that i know i will not be staying there for long and i feel i stole the job from them.

don't feel bad about anything. they're probably so burnt out that didn't want it anyway, not saying you didn't deserve it. but putting someone in that position that early was not fair to you either really. just try to be humble and learn everyone's best traits, leave the bad ones with them. so you see what I mean by the bad influences involved with that job, good. as long as you keep a goal to keep moving forward and leave that behind you'll be fine. i know a lot of guys, probably from immaturity, see what happens to everyone else and say "Yeah, but it wont happen to me". I bet most of the guys you see doing the wrong things now, said that too when they started.

just keep moving forward, sports medicine or whatever, and take care of you and yours.
