I LOVE being off the pill.

Maybe I'll try it. I've been off for about 4 months now. It's amazing how differently they all effect each individual person. The yasmin ads keep saying it's the #1 pill in the US. It KILLED my drive, and make me such a psychotic bitch that my husband finally pleaded that I go off.

Sounds familiar...

Both Yasmin and Alesse were really bad for me.

It is funny how everyone is different...I took alesse and loved it...even lost 50 pounds while taking it...only problem is that my period never stoped lol so I stoped...then they put me on Estrostep...well..only this is I feel bloated but didn't gain weight and I was a miserable bitch last month when the estrogen went up to 35...it starts with 20 then 30 then 35....but I think I might asked to be switcherd again if the moodiness keeps up...I thought I was gonna end up divorced lol

Ahhhh, just wait until you are through having children and one of you can get the snip. No pills, no condoms.... worry free sex ANY.TIME.YOU.WANT.IT. :p

I took the ortho evra patch for a month because i had irregular bleeding
it fixed that but i was hungry all the freakin time..and i bet i gained 10 lbs that month..
i was craving food like a pregnant woman....cabbage...stuff that i never eat.....all sorts of weird stuff
so i stopped taking it and poof the weight went off
yay

I was on Ortho Tricyclen for months before switching to Minestrin (loestrin 1/20, it's called Minestrin in Canada) because I wanted a lower dose pill, monophasic pill (it has 20mcg of estrogen and is monophasic as opposed to triphasic Tricyclen). MISTAKE - I hated Minestrin. After that I was on Marvelon (sold as Desogen in the States) and had no problems with that pill. I went off of it ages ago (almost a year ago) though because I decided it wasn't necessary for me to be on and I wanted to be free of synthetic hormones.

I can't say whether or not Tricyclen or Marvelon affected my fat loss attempts or made me put on weight because my diet and eating habits weren't consistent while I was on those two, but Minestrin definitely did - I didn't change my eating habits and gained weight and felt bloated and gross while on it.

If I was to go on the pill again I'd probably use Marvelon. My sister (15) is on Marvelon to help regulate her period and has no problems with it and I never really did either.

you dont need a tubal ligation for that my sister. I'm amazed that QT and I are the only girls with IUDs.

Geez ladies what's up with all the hormonal BC? I've had my IUD 18 months now. If you're having monogomous sex it's the only method as far as I'm concerned. After awhile you'll never even give it any thought....plus like aand said you can have completely impulsive, unplanned sex.

Mine is just to regulate my periods which kinda stink but I will be 40 this yr...my hubby got the snip so I don't have to worry about babies...just need the hormones

I want an IUD at some point. I suppose it depends on when we decide to have kids. If we decide to it'll be in around 3 years.

they hurt when they first put them in...i have heard they hurt more when they take them out...there are 2 types the non hormonal for 1 year then they have the hormonal 5 year...i heard you can use the non hormonal one and have 0 trouble having a child right after it is removed but it takes a while for the hormonal one to lose the hormones
