I have bad acne and skin rashes over my body because of dairy products

My daily intake: I take 1.5 liters of skim milk with my two protein shakes, I usually eat cottage every other day.

My body can't take it anyore. I have alot of zits in my face and wierd skin rashes all over my chest. Im desperate to find a solution and FAST.

Should I cut dairy products completely? What should I do to replace this source of protein??

Thanks

What makes you so sure it is dairy??
I ask b/c most dairy products are rich in vitamin A which reduces the production of sebum--the fatty substance found in the bodys pores that causes your acne to flare up.

What else do you eat?? Processed foods? Plenty of EFA's??

Primarily, acne is caused by an inbalance of sex hormones BUT your diet can offset this hormones....such as with insulin spikes. Sorry--didn't mean to turn it into school day....but what else do you eat?? and what type of job do you have? Have you tried clearasil, proactiv, etc.??

No processed foods and I eat lots of salmon so that should cover EFAs.

I eat food that has a low GI such as rye bread, oatmeal and basmati rice. It could either be the dairy or the sun. I've increased my sun exposure ten-fold since the summer started but then again why only on my chest and face.

I read that pregnant cows release a lot of androgenic hormones in their milk and that will cause excess oil production in humans. I really doubt the sun is causing the small whiteheads popping up on my face.

It's most likely not the sun. Cut all dairy products out of your diet for a week, and see if it'll improve.

How long have you been consuming dairy at this rate. Did this problem just start out of the blue? How old are you? Did you just start a new job? What are you doing in the sun? How is your skin care?

What other supps are you taking? If you're on a cycle of 1AD or Monster Test or any of those supps that we're not supposed to get any more, this could also cause the acne problem. If you're younger (less than 25 or so), that could be part of it. At 42, the only time I get that is on a cycle.
If it started when you started all of the milk, and you're sure that's what it is, then use water instead of milk in your shakes. 1.5 liters for 2 shakes.....that's a lot. I use 1.5 cups of skim milk (12 oz). At 1.5 liters, you're going to need between 50-60 g of protein more to make up for the lack. Maybe add one more scoop of powder to your shakes, or have one extra shake before bed?

I only take ON 100% chocolate whey for sups. I will try to cut all dairy products (except whey) and cottage cheese and replace it with cod or turkey.

I had the same problem during the xmas vacation. I consumed tons and tons of cottage cheese, skim milk, whey...etc and I had a really bad acne breakout. My whole face was really red, just like it is it now. I thought it was my hairgel but now that my head has been shaved for like 3 months, I now strongly suspect that im overdosing on dairy.

I just tried taking my whey with water and you know what? It's good. At first I was really apprehensive and thought it would taste like complete shit but it actually taste alright and it mixes well.

I just hope it clears up a bit before monday night. I will meet my-ex gf and I don't want my face to be all fucked up :)

i dunno about your dairy problem, although i doubt its that...

but in answer to taking whey with water, if you can get used to it its much better than with milk because it absorbs alot faster, and usually if your drinking whey its cause you want fast protein anyway, -such as right when u wakeup or post workout

something about casin coating the stomach slowling absorbtion

Describe the rash - is it pinkish/red, slightly swollen and slightly bumpy?. (I have allergies to dairy, soy, wheat, yeast flours, blah blah so I can help you with that.) If it doesn't go away after the two weeks and it's just itchy swollen and driving you get some cortisone creme 2% from the drug store. Better thing is to get to the doctor so you can get a script and to be tested for food allergies.

I had it so bad once that I had to do a cycle of prednisone just to be able to open my eyes.

Drop all the dairy and switch to egg white protein powder for 2 weeks and take note of any changes.

They are pink/red but they are not swollen or bumpy. My face is very red and oily. I have small zits popping here and there. When I rub the palm of my hand on my face, I feel lots and lots of tiny bumps.

I dropped all dairy products except whey. If I keep having problems, Ill drop the whey but right now ill see what happens.

Thanks
