you already said that you don't eat a lot sometimes....that's probably your problem right there. remember that gaining muscle means not losing it too! if you don't eat much some days, you're probably gonna lose some muscle... so then you have to get back to even and then gain on top of that.... if you don't eat, the cycle repeats. you need to be consistent.
