I Cant Get Size Anywhere

Seriously, I agree that he needs to train legs. I also agree that he needs to eat to grow. Food is VERY anabolic. Not just for providing energy WHILE you train, but to back your immune system while it's repairing your muscles. Every time you go to the gym and rip your muscle fibers (catabolize them), you initiate an anabolic counterstrike. During this time of recovery, or building the muscle back up, you should let the fibers heal completely before ripping them again. The fibers heal larger than they were before and that is what is known as hypertrophy...muscle growth. If you don't recover sufficiently/efficiently, you build nothing. Your body needs fuel to keep up with everyday function, as well as recovering from the extra demands you place upon it. If you're not going to do active recovery, you need to rest and eat, and I would take Glutamine.

You don't grow in the gym.

very tru guys, thanks, I;m hitting the squats tommorow along with the tuna!!!

Squats are obviously one of the best overall mass builders. Just be sure to learn how to squat the right way.

And as for tuna...if you really want to make some gains I would opt for some higher calorie protein foods like beef...and some high quality carb sources like Oatmeal or Red Potatoes.

STEAK GOOD!

CARBS. Oatmeal. Red taters. Sweet taters. Sure you need lots of protein, but carbs do the work. Slow burning carbs and green veggies that boost your metabolism, support the imune system, and fuel recovery.

Sprinters have big legs because they use glycogen for fuel. Most explosive athletes use glycogen for fuel. This makes sprinting (speed work) more anabolic than catabolic. Burns TONS of cals, but functions within the muscle like a "leg day." It's more closely linked to weight training than cardio.

Thats good advice i can use thanks!

Its very difficult to get any advice from the gym staff where i go to workout. They recommend eating a bit more than i ussually do to get big, when i asked them what to eat their reply was eat what ever you ussually eat just a bit more, not really helpfull as im baffled at how much protien to eat and carbs, the reply to this was add an egg to your toast and have some cereal in the morning,i dont have to tell you that in less than two weeks listening to them bad mouth diets found in bodybuilding mags to bulk up i had lost great amounts of muscle mass, they are shocking.I aproached them again to this shortfall i was having in the gym and they blamed me for bad progress and said i wasnt training hard enough. All i needed was a decent diet from them and was promised that when i joined and got a membership but the advice never came, good advice anyway. After their advice i lost lots of muscle and found myself exhausted after only 10 mins in the gym.Im steadily finding out about real nutrition and calorie intake so if someone can guide me i would be eternally grateful,a few suggestions like Spattersons is all i ask,and ill keep browsing the the other posts im sure all is revealed here somewhere:) :) :) :)

Steven, this is my bulking diet. Keep in mind that I'm a 5'9'' female. You could adjust the numbers accordingly, and at least you'll get an idea of food choices.

It actually turned out that I need more carbs before weights, and found oatmeal was my best friend. To this day, I can't lift as well witout oatmeal. So it was generally oatmeal and a banana.

You know the more stories I hear from people that lift at commercial gyms...the more I realize that a majority of personal trainers are completely worthless . Glorified salesmen with a certificate. Don't get me wrong there are several good ones out there...but blaming a client for not tryin hard enough.

If I gave you a map of California and told you to find the Sydney Opera House....doesn't matter how hard you try...you couldn't find it. Time to get the right map.

Sorry, just pisses me off...you have done the right thing in coming here...talk to people that have the same goals as you.

Reply to hanniball.-quote,

Yes your dead right there,hannibal

It wasnt just me that has found themselves in this mess at the same gym,ive talked to a few others and they have similar stories, ill help them out as well with the info i have here so cheers again!!

Would you believe that this gym is rated 5 star, yeah no joke!
Your also right that they are boasting they hold personel training certificates and can supply the right advice ,i think that those certificates they have are probably earned in a few short days of study and training but dont come with proffesional oppinions like you would expect visiting a website like this,im glad i found this place thanks to a decent search engine called GOOGLE.

I try to maintain a good diet with high protein but find myself not eating alot on some days. What can i do to get me to that 200 level before i start aspirating needles in my ass. Also if i choose not to wait and do a cycle now to reach my goals, will gaining muscle in the future naturally be even more diffucult.

Thanks guys,

How many calories are you eating each day? I can guarantee you that whatever you are eating, it isn't enough. You should record the number of calories and protein that you get each day, and then go from there.

For a 180 pound male, who has a fast matabolism, you should be eating AT LEAST 180 grams of protein each day, and AT LEAST 3500-4000 calories, if you want to put on some size.

Don't even think about putting a needle in your ass. At 6'1" and 180, you are far from reaching your natural potential. I'm 6'1" 250, and still growing, and I have yet to touch a needle.

eat like a horse and dont be affraid to eat pizza, subs...and all that good stuff. lift with heavy weights low reps...and u may wanna try creatine....i know everyone hates the company but cell tech will throw at least 10lbs on ya
