I can't believe some of these APA records

I was wondering if I go and compete on August 10 since it's an APA event if I'll take home a record that day even if it's a state record so I went over and checked it out. At my weight right now I can compete in 3 weight classes I can either diet down by cutting carbs/fat to 181 or I can just stay in 198 or bump up some weight put on strength and lift in 220 in the 18-19 year old division. now here are the records since I'm doing a push/pull meet.

Bench records 181 275
198 235(what the hell, so low)
220 320

Deadlift records 181 405(I already got that beat in a 17 division)
198 540(my goal for the meet is 550)
220 525( I might just take this one)

So I was thinking I can either really gain weight compete in 220 and feel small b/c i'll barely break 200 by that time I'm sure if I can't even do it now. Or I can stay in 198 KILL THAT BENCH RECORD by like 100lbs but have a hard time with the deadlift record or drop weight to 181 and KILL BOTH records.

What do you guys think???? Especially those that are gonna be there and know if there are gonna be stronger kids in certain classes. I hate going into a meet thinking i'ma get my ASS WHOOPED

isnt that the fed that you said i could break the WR in??

but yeah, stay in 181 for the meet if you can keep your strength,

twitched thanks

Deciever yes that is the fed hell you'd be able to break a world record, me right now only state record but hey it's more than what some people have.

What does everyone else think about me in what of the 3 weight classes??

I would lift were your at. Move up when you are a legitimate 198. Meaning getting below 181 is impossible unless serious dieting is involved.

Thanks JAY I was hoping you woulda came on and posted. I guess if I can stay at 198 then I'll do that and tear that bench record up and try and beat that deadlift record the way I see it is I now have a suit so that'll give me about 50lbs and I've recouped alot from the last meet and I'm built for pulling so I'm thinkin 550 WILL fly.

Are u gonna be at the meet in August 10 down in FT MYERS??????That's when I plan on breakin these records.

I arleady asked on another thread but who else besides musclehead275 is gonna be there???

i totally recommend u stay comfortable and lift where you're at. no sense in gaining a ton of weight or losing a ton. good luck on breaking those records. LIFT BIG!!

I agree with PLJay, but then I usually do.

If you need to diet to the point where it is hurting your lifts, do not do it. Especially at your age. You are in the years where you can gain both size and strength quickly, at a rate us old guys would have to spend a fortune to achieve. Take advantage of this for as long as possible.

OK today I weighed in at 190 so I'm guessing I'm just gonna stay where I am if I by a chance of miracle of GOD put on some more weight i'll diet down and stick in 198.
