I don't do the program, I just do 5 reps for 5 sets of the same weight for my compound lifts. I waaaay prefer 8-12 reps for 3 sets on isolation exercises.
im not trying to do the program, i usually lift in hypertrophy rep range like you stated but lets say you use 225 for 5x5, do you go to failure on the first set? if so how do you get other 4 sets if you're fatigued from previous set, or you stop short of 2-3 reps on the first set and go to failure on last set?
Gonna try this 5x5 today and see how it goes.
