I am new on this board - my boyfriend posts on the Anabolic board - and I thought I might as well get in on this chat stuff and see what I can learn from the women out there.

I don't compete and have never tried any type of steriod. I just work out to stay in shape and stay healthy. However, I am at a plateau and would like some help. I am debating taking the liquid form of clembutarol. Has anyone ever taken this and gotten good results? Or should I just quit looking for an easy way out and focus more on a restricted diet and cardio routine? As it is, I do 40-45 minutes of high intensity cardio about 4-5 times a week as well as lifting weights.

I am 5'5 and 138lbs. with 16% BF (which my boyfriend thinks is inaccurate and should be much lower). I get to a point where I have made excellent progress, and then I slack off when I hit a plateau. I NEED SOMETHING TO KEEP ME MOTIVATED AND KEEP ME SEEING RESULTS!
 
Hi JLo - Welcome to the boards! There's plenty of non-steroid discussion here too! I think there's just something about all the testosterone on the AS board LOL!

THat height and weight are not bad at all. How was your bf tested? Honestly its hard to get below that without pursuing some serious leaning out or muscle building. The typical bodyfat for a woman is around 25% -- and this is not necessarily someone who is "fat". Its more like your bodyfat to muscle ratio.
But the accuracy of bf measurement methods is debatable.

Can you post what your lifting schedule is and your diet? That's a good place to start. If you are at a plateau, maybe just time to make a big change somewhere in the routine -- maybe more training, less cardio or change the diet a little. For ex, are you eating 5-6 small meals per day with enough protein? Let's see what ya got!

Routine

My body fat was tested with that clamp. As far as my lifting routine - I do three days on and one day off. Day 1 - back, bi's, and abs. Day 2 - Legs. Day 3 - Chest, shoulders, and tri's. Lately, I have been slacking a bit, like skipping abs or postponing legs.... but, I at least try and make it into the gym to do cardio. I run for 20 mintues after doing 20 minutes on the Elliptical.

My diet isn't 5-6 small meals a day. It is actually pretty inconsistent. As I am typing this, I am eating a full BBQ spread that my office had catered in! However, normally, I have protein shakes and no carbs after 6pm. I take the ephedrine everyday in some form or another... and I try to stay away from fried foods and food way high in fat. But, I am not on a strict diet and maybe I should be.

My boyfriend says that I need to start lifting heavier now. He says that I have lost the weight that I need to lose and that clen will make me look too skinny/ sickly..... I have definitionin my back and you can see my quads and chest muscles, etc... I just have those few pounds hanging around my thighs and butt!
 
Welcome to the boards!...i would do as much research as possible before using a steroid.. i know that a favorite for women including men is anavar, which is like the safest roid with minimul side effects, and not very toxic at all....i would be careful with clenbuteral..i don't know all there is about it, but im sure somebody else can help you..good luck

Your boyfriend is right. You probably DO need to start lifting heavier now. I found that when I started lifting heavier, I got leaner. Try it and see what happens. Postpone the clen for now. And DON'T neglect leg day. You MUST do leg day if you want to attack those "few pounds hanging around my thighs and butt". All the cardio in the world will not harden up your thighs and butt, but squats, lunges, stiff-legged deadlifts and the like will.

All this will be a whole lot easier if you start making some positive changes in your diet. I used to think I could still eat whatever I wanted if I just worked out harder. I finally realized how I was wasting all my good work in the gym by a few stupid food choices. You'd be amazed by what a few smart food changes can do. Take it one step at a time, so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself.

Well, you're right. I shouldn't skip leg day - especially if that's the area I have the most complaints in.....

The problem is my glutes feel so weak that leg day takes so much out of me. My leg workout consists of squats with the smith machine - 10-12 reps of 145 lbs.... leg press with 4 45's 10-12 reps ..... isolated leg extension with 60 lbs. 10-12 reps..... isolated leg curls, walking lunges with dumbells (no set number - I just walk around the track) and calves and inner and outer thighs. Also, shoudl cardio be skipped on leg day, and is it better to do cardio before or after workouts?

I guess I should add deadlifts - although, I heard that was bad on your back..... Maybe I should just wear a weight belt.

So, in your opinion, clen won't help me at this point? Should I build more muscle in my butt before leaning out? Would clen help me to build muscle, or is it strictly about losing weight?

My boyfriends idea is to lift heavy to put on size, and then lean out with clen. I already get accused of being on roids at the gym, so my muscle definition is there - I just don't know how muscular I am supposed to get before being able to take clen to lean out.....

I have read the polls on female steriods and looks like most women like Anavar. Wonder if I shoudl just say - the hell with it and try that stuff and hit two birds with one stone. Is Anavar a pill or a shot or what?
 
You say your leg day "takes so much out of me"...It's supposed to be like that. When you do your sets of 10-12 reps, are you going to failure on your working sets? If not, up those weights until you feel like those last few reps are a real challenge.

Personally, if I can sit on the toilet comfortably w/in 5 days of training legs, then I didn't train hard enough. Others feel if leg day doesn't make them throw up, then it wasn't a success. (Some hard core gyms have a "vomit bucket" just for that purpose!) :D Truthfully though, you can make good progress w/o going THAT far.

The best time to do cardio is early morning on an empty stomach. Then do weights later in the day after you've had some fuel. If you can only workout in the morning (like me), do your weights first (after a brief warm up) and then do your cardio. That way you use up most of your stored calories (muscle glycogen) in your weight workout, so by the time you start cardio, there's nothing left to burn but fat.

Check out this link for stiff-legged deadlifts. Done correctly, you should feel them in your butt and hamstrings, not your back. When you're doing them, concentrate on squeezing your glutes.

They call it "straight leg", but you can bend your knees a little, just don't round your back (and don't do them as fast as that guy in the link!)
