Feb 9th....


Ran 6 miles....3 of them were about 4 inches of snow covered trails.....man those are hard on the legs.......
 
Feb 10th......2 hours spin....certification course

Feb 11th.....30 min walk the dogs in the woods and Ice skated 25 min....not like these really count but they sure were fun!!

i slipped on some ice and rolled around in pain for a bit. is that exercise?

HOLY HELL! I'd think that was about a 4 in 1 cardio workout. Good job, GG!:)
 
Thanks Lu....we are getting 5-9 inches tomorrow and 1-2 today.....I think most of my runs will be snow covered for awhile....But Im sick....so no running right now

Feb 13th.....

Okay so I have not ran anything yet that I had planned....I planned a % mile trail run this weekend...and here I am sick. I don't want to run because I know it weakens the immune system..so I am trying to get better...been using zycam so it seems to be better today already.....I need to get my training back on.....and meet some of these goals.....

Woke up feeling like I have the flu...Okay why do I even journal anymore...wanted to swim today BUT snow day...kids are home...Today is my Anniversary (15 years) and no gift..no card I was going to do that all today LOL...so much for putting things off....lol

Feb 18th.....

Okay so....I RAN A RACE TODAY! You have to remeber...no running for a week...just started to feel better....woke up this am and said "what the hell...I'm doing it".

So It was lol this is great...a 5 mile trail run through a extremely hilly mountian bike trail which was ungroomed (which means 5 inches of snow unpacked)....

Thoughts on the run...thought I was dying lol...took 1 hour 25 min.....which was decent since a friend of mine who did the Ironman did it in an hour. I have never ever ran anything so hard....glad I have more balls then brains. But all in all it was a blast.......

Ran 2.0 miles this afternoon. It was a balmy 30....woo hoo :)

Feb 21.....

Swam 20 laps......oh how I hate to swim.....but looking at a Tri in july if I can swim the 800 m LOLOLOLOL....don't hold your breath lol

With the teachers strike I am about ready to ship them off, LOL actually no, it has been nice having the oldest around, kinda like summer holidays. I am just sooo concerned about the grade 12 students.

Okay....So here I am trying to figure out how I want to train for this season that is going to start pretty soon....

Yesterday I ran 4 miles in the am...nothing to really write about lol....but my calf kept cramping all the way through... :worried:


Going to add one of these a week:
8 to 10 x 400 meters at mile race pace with 90 seconds recovery
5 x 200 meters at mile race pace with 30 seconds recovery, 3-minute jog, 4 x 200 meters at two seconds faster than the earlier 200s with 30 seconds recovery. Run the last 200 all out.
20 x 400 meters at 10-K race pace with 30 seconds recovery. Run the last all out.
25-minute tempo run at slightly faster than your normal tempo-run pace-which is usually about 20 seconds slower than 10-K race pace. Think hard/comfortable rather than comfortable/hard.

Well.....Im down 6-7 pounds and was at 24%bf....so I should get that tested again. Was done in January....Im very confortable at a 9-10min mile which has gone down from the summer. It was about an 11 min mile when racing.......SO....everything is going in a way I would like...and at 41 Im just happy it is moving lol


My proudest thing is that I have went from not being able to swin to doing 5 laps freestyle without fins and 20 laps with fins...with good form I might add!!!!

Congrats on your swimming successes and I think *I* would have been sore from it too! Are fins the things you put on your hands?

I'm sure they're not the same as floaties that you'd throw on your kids arms. :D That'd be hysterical to see though -- I'm goofy enough that I'd put 'em on to get a laugh... probably not at the gym, though.

Missed you at the Arnold. Keep it up with all your training... 3 crappy miles is still 3 miles... you'll have such an adrenaline rush for that tri that it'll be a breeze regardless of where your weakness lies at that moment. :)

Glute cable kickbacks 50# 3 sets of 8

Was really tired...today I feel the same way....I think I have an emotional hangover from counseling....

Squats - 3 x 8 reps 165#
Dead lifts - 3 x 10 reps 85#

One hour spin class....15 miles total

3 miles..lousy slow run....but I have either a cold or allergies.....
