Going to Start cutting...

In about a month Im gonna start a hardcore cut diet.
By then Im guessing Ill be around 100kgs.
Im 18 years old and a guess of about 15-17 percent body fat.
I have recently finished a tub of that gainer protien powder with carbs. As I am finished it Im taking 1 week of training and no supps. (I do this all the time). I will try to be doing alot of cardio in this week.

I will be buying a simple low carb Protein Powder.

ok so heres a few diet related questions:

1) Should I have Protein/fat/carbs every meal or just stick to either a protein/carb or protein/fat meal, or 1 of each every 2nd meal.

2) Is lots of fruit ok (say about 2-3 apples and possibly grapes)

3) Lots of veggies good? (Carrots green Leafies, plain white Potatos)

4) Is a scoop if Powerade Powder with my Carbless shake ok Post Workout?

5) ANPB? Eat much or not? Also Because I really binge could I have a TSP and say a can of Diet coke/Coke Zero to releive myslef? I hear the ANPB really takes away Cravings.

6) Any carbs at night? say 2 hours before bed?

7) Cardio? Yes or No? If yes how much how often for how long? I would ratehr be doing jogs/runs up the road. Also When Feasible should I do daily cardio in the morning on an empty stomach? This might only be once or twice a week.

8) Supps. Creatine ok? Also I have some test boosting tablets (tribulas wild yam, the usuall) Continue using them whilst cutting?

9) Should I decrease the size of my meals in general. I think atm Id be gettig around 2500-3000cals per day.

10) Packet pasta: chessy Carbrona, Macoroni etc. Yes or No and what about plain pasta in general?



Wow alot of questions, but please help me with what you can. Looking to gte under 10% BF if possible like maybe 6-7 would be really good.

It depends, some people mix others don't there is no CORRECT way. But to be 'safe' i would do pro/fat pro carb etc..

On a so called " Stirct Cut Diet" i would say no to fruit. If your just cutting down ONE piece of fruit in the am is okay...but generally fruit is a no-no.

Green leafy veggies ( brocclie,green beans, celary) are okay. Carrots not so much. Pototatoes are not vegetables they are Carb sources..

Yes

Depends, Can you eat PB on cut diet... yes.. but it has to fit into your diet. Say for example your eating 2400 calories. on your diet. Eating extra PB will add calories into your diet.. So can u eat PB yes.. make it into on one your meal ( pro.fat) but not really a snack

Cardio depends, some people can do 0 cardio and get ripped others cant.. So i wouild say any where from 4-6 sessions in week would be your gauge.. start with 4 sessions a week 30-45 min in the am or pwo then if ur not loosing fat up the cardio etc..

B]are u sure ur getting 2500- cals a day? and your 100kg? that not much at all. but on cutter u need to determine how many cals u need to burn fat and keep muscle.[/B]

To answer your questions,

(1) F + P or P+C, but not F+C (with P). Basically, keep your C around workouts.

(2) The less fruit the better, as its an inefficient carb, that only refills liver glycogen, and therefore isn't particularly useful during workouts. As liver glycogen is limited (50 grams storage per day), any excess fruit carbs (fructose) are converted into fat

In terms of calorie content per 100 gram, roughly speaking
Most veggies: 25-35
Carrots, onions: 40
Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes 90.

Green veggies like brocolli, spinach have a high amount of protein and fibre to net carb. Potaotes and Sweet Potatoes are starches. Carrots have a fair bit of sugar (sucrose). Try pumpkin as a taste replacement (lower in cals, and low in sugar).

My approach is to employ at least 1/2 crap tasting "good veggies" (brocolli, spinach, cabbage, green beans etc) and the remaining to be better tasting low cal veggies (pumpkin, onion, red pepper, carrot) to mask taste. Garlic, salt, herbs also do wonders

(4) No avoid powerade. It's mainly sucrose. Sucrose = 1/2 fructose, so essentially this is pointless cas

(5) People who think they get full on PB are deluding themselves or strange. It's over 600 cals per 100 grams, and that's not much. 20 grams of PB has say many cals as 500 of most veggies, and that's before factoring in the thermic effects of digestion.

You can eat it whilst dieting, but you need to factor it into your macros and weigh it, as a 25 gram serve is nothing.

Also, PB is high in omega 6 - there are better fats that may increase fat oxidation better (fish oil, flaxseed)

(6) No carbs before bed, unless its PWO

(7) Opinions differ on amount of cardio. Start on moderate amounts and if your weight loss platues, increasing it then is a back up strategy.

ok thanks heaps guys, excatly the reponse I was looking for.

But about the post work out carbs, Dextrose so I hear? How much is it roughly say for 1 kg (if thats what it comes in) is Aussie $$.

Also I forgot to mention, Im taking/will be taking 3 fish oil tablets daily. 1 breakfast, 2 at dinner.

And is canned Fish ok?

Canned fish is great cheap and lean protein..

For pwo carbs i would use Waxy Maize starch such as vitagro or oatmeal..
