Extremely low cals.

Muscle is broken down when the body needs glucose for energy and when amino acids are needed else where in the body correct? How about eating a very small snack every 30 mins just to maintain glucose needs at around 1000 cals a day? The snacks would include mainly simple carbohydrate, fish oil, and some protein to maintain amino acid needs.

What you think?

Bro, the minimum you should stick to, for a sustainable diet is BMR cals or 1800 cals/day.

For short amounts of time, and only for a specific goal, you can go down to 1400 cals (I have seen this done by BBers over 220 lbs, but only for 8-12 weeks while cutting for comp). However, DO NOT do this as a normal diet, since you will slow down your metabolism... this is only done as a last step/resort prior to stage-time. I used this approach to shock my body after going into TDEE cals for 2 weeks and it worked (maybe even too good). I am back again at BMR+200 cals.

Losing weight at the expense of muscle breakdown is almost as bad as gaining fat
