I am 5'6 182lbs 10-12% Body Fat:

I have been eating 4000 calories a day for 29 days and training like an animal. So far i have gained 13lbs (I started bulking after I finished my last contest @169lbs). I used to be big on all the supps but now I feel I am making the most progress using DISCIPLINE-HARD TRAINING-CLEAN DIET(no junk food/fast food/processed crap or alcohol. I do burn one regularly (puff puff pass) and it does nothing but help my appetite.

FOOD IS WHERE ITS AT! IMO

hahano thats how i can eat to gain weight. it dosent really matter what i eat i dont gain much fat. i took 5 months off ate like shit and lost 20 lbs i didnt gain an oz of fat.

is that true that your body can only synthesize 30-40g at a time? If so I need to do some serious rearranging of when I eat what throughout the day, I normally just have my protein shakes with meals, but if that's true then that means I'm probably wasting alot of that protein...

Hmm... I tend to smell very bad when eating huge amounts of protein and better if I eat less protein and more carbs. Also, my skin gets a lot better that way.

How is that "urine smell" in conjunction with the amount of protein I eat?

Do you mean if your urine starts smelling!?!
 
I don't believe it is. Digestive enzymes should break the proteins down properly and fiber should send the proteins out of the stomach in smaller chunks, thus you should be amino acids in the blood for longer periods of time

I'm at about 4,000 calories a day & still on my way up (working up to 6,000 for a few months) & after trying all kinds of different rations & setups I've learned that I grow the best when taking in approx. 2g of Protein per lb of bodyweight & at 210lbs that puts my daily protein needs at about 420 grams

so my answer would be 4,000/420g

NIGHT MEAL 8:00PM
5Large eggs

Most vitamin complexes are very similar. I haven't found much difference between them.
 
Yes sir if I could eat sushi all day everyday around 3000 kcal I'd be set, I think everyone here would be!

There is/was an article in Mens Journal about 3-4 months ago referancing a leading scientist putting his reputation on the line that humans do not need carbs at all...period no carbs. That they are bad for you and the only thing we need is protein. Was intresting to me mainly because of what he had to loose by writing his book.
 
I have just recently been keeping track of what I'm eating, thanks to some Bro's from another thread. It has helped alot as far as you can see what you are or are not taking in. Although I have a long way to go from the looks of some of you with the 4000-5000 cal/dy intake. (Man thats alot of food). Im just a measly 135-140lb Hardgainer, sometimes struggling to get 2600cals and just over 200g of protein/dy. But even at that I am starting to see inprovements. So give me time and one of these days you never know. (Like that little train used to say "I think I can, I think I can")

thats alot of calories and a small amount of protein. remember you need the aminos from protein to build muscle. not enough and you dont gain.
 
Taking over 2g of protein per lb of bodyweight is a waste imho UNLESS you eat 8 or more meals a day. I don't, don't have time. The reason I say this is because your body can only take in so much protein at once. The rest is hard on your body and makes you have protein-filled poo.
 
Current weight is about 230 and am hoping for 240 something for Christmas
@ 3k calories I'm losing 2 pounds a week.
@ 4k my weight is stable but I can't recover from my workouts.
@ 5k my recovery is good and my weight is moving up.
 
Too much. I'm not a bodybuilder though, I like food. On occasion I have 10,000+ calories in a day but I try and limit those. Think im gonna go grill burgers and dogs right now!
 
When bulking, all i do is increase the amount/volume of the foods i eat while in a cutting phase, eating clean is still an integral part. I want to be healthy year round. Say i aimed for 3000 cals a day on a cutting diet, i'll aim for 5000, keeping the amount of fibrous carbs the same with each meal, but doubling meat and starchy carb.

For my Protein/Fat meal before bed, I'll add 6 eggs to whatever else i'm eating, usually a salmon fillet, and sauteed mushroom and spinach.
 
I eat between 3700-4000cals a day. 310gPro, 425gCarbs and 85gFat. I have been doing this for a month and am leaner now than I was when I was eating 2500 cals.
 
I try to eat below 2000 calories each day and consume about 200-220 grams of protein. I currently weigh 217lbs. I'm 5'5 and have a body fat percentage of I don't know. But I'm pretty fat though.
 
Ok, I am 63 inches small and weigh around 50kg (110 lbs) . I eat around 3400 kcal a day while at least getting 150g of protein. Of course, if one eats 3400 kcal, it is impossible to get less than that, so typically, I consume around 250g.
 
ACtually Bro, I dont know when you ate an MRE last, but they have gotten alot better, I have aten them for about 6 years now, so I might be numb to them...but, they actually ahve some pretty healthy ones, where you can get a pretty good meal out of. but the tobasco sauce is true for most people, but I dont like it either, so lifes a bitch

British rations are alot worse. When we was in camp bastian, we got some MREs of americans, and its awesome shit.. tortillas and all sorts!. True, its very shity from bb'ers perspective.
 
Dieting right now so I eat 1500-2000 calories a day. With like 80-100g protein. I don't subscribe to the whole 1-2g protein per pound theory. I'm keeping up strength and muscles just fine without all that protein.
 
I eat about 3000 calories (range from 2600-3400, but mainly eat the EXACT SAME THINGS every day) a day, here is how it breaks down. I want to add more calories, but dont know where to put them, especially since the advice I have been given dictates I shouldnt try to exceed 150 carbs a day to keep the bulk clean. I just typed up a GREAT detailed outline of exactly what I eat, when, EVERYTHING then it didnt post and deleted it, so Im furious and givin yall the edited version. Ive been workin out hard for like 3 years, gone from 225@ 25%bf to 177.5 @ about 10% (I think its about 12-14% but even though I havent calipered the trainer who I asked said he would estimate sub 10%, but that I feel like im carrying more cause I have big obliques and lower rectus abdominals combined with wide pelvic bones, but that after pinch testing in all the other areas they caliper I have like NO fat. just for what thats worth.)

Man I have been struggling myself lately. I got started late and only ate about 60% of what I needed to. I fell short at taking about 2200 cals. That's like a burning diet for me at 250 -248 right now. I'm washing this day and upping my calories big time. Eat big or go home right?
 
im bulking on 2500cal 300g pro 130g carbs 70g fats ,, working nicely,, i have a very slow metabolism,, if i look at pizza or any junk,, i get fat,, my diet has 2 be 100 percent 4 me 2 make clean gain,, not had a cheat day in 3 months,, hard but worth it :0

my birthday is on monday,, as i enjoy eating so clean,, i have changed that day lowered fats 30g and higher-ed carbs 320g .. LOVE MY OATMEAL ,,might even stick a few candles in it :) hah
