Does it matter what time you train at?

I always think that if I dont have food in my system before I train I won't grow.

For ex. I need to train after at least 2 meals because I 'think' my body won't run properly, or go as hard

Does it matter what time you really train at?

I was thinking of getting my sorry ass out of bed at 7am, have a bowl of oatmeal and take a protein shake real quickly and going for my workouts every morning. Just to start the day off nicely.

Would it benefit me any more/less going at different times of the day? or is it as long as I keep my diet on track, I'll be fine?

I always wondered this

Thanks

I always find my energy best for working out in the evenings. Maybe its the four or five meals I have before but I find I dont lift as heavy in the mornings.

Well i recently read a study that says that people who train in the evenings are less likely to get sick during the winter days.(gern season) This is because it takes the body a while after waking up to build its natural anti-bodies. Usually workingout every morning weakens the body to a greater extent then evening sessions (immune functiuon speaking). Other than that i belive its just personal preference. However i do feel alot more warmed up in the evenings, than mornings. THe weird thing is though, whenever i go early in the AM i see shit loads of freaks, benching 600lbs and shit, i guess with all the gear in them there body stay warm enough to kill cold germs, lol.

What's up Jap ........ I just switched over to mornings 3 months ago now. I love to get the work-outs out of the way BUT...you are definitely weaker in the morning. I workout approx 2 hours after my first meal and even with ECA/NYC----it's just not the same! The energy seems to come from the NYC/ECA (jittery/fake energy) as oppposed to a "solid" strength -type of energy I am used to at night. I feel I have given it adequate time for getting used to the switch. Still unsatisfied and will be switching to pm again soon.

Yes and no....

That's special to everyone. I do the common morning routine.

1. First thing of the day, no distractions, get it over with.

2. Most energy time for me.

3. Kicks up the metabolism for the day.

Oh, don't fail to eat before workouts. I take in 30% of my caloritic intake before a workout and again right after. Both meals tend to be mostly liquid as heavy foods would weigh me down, but your body needs the protien and carbs before you hit the gym.

Pros and Cons

You got to weight the benefits of each and then apply them to your own preferences.

A.M. Workout
Pros:
Higher levels of endogenous test
Increase metabolic rate throughout the day
Get it done with, now its time to refuel and recupe
Cons:
Usually less neurotransmitter response (which is why you don't feel as solid handling the weights). Basically if you are not a morning person, you should not train in the morning. You can adapt to it though.

P.M. Workout
Pros:
More neurotransmitter response
Increase metabolic rate throughout the night moreso
Can refuel, recupe while sleeping
Cons:
Missed the endogenous testosterone peak
Have to plan your day accordingly

i have always heard consuming alot of carbs right before workout will weaken you, probably wrong though.
anyway, i actually max in the mornings right before my workout, i am much stronger in the mornings and loove it, DAAMNN!! this reforvit, Equipoise and cypionate and fina is kicking is BABY! whew

Thats exxactly how I am.
If I go early in the morning I got no energy to lift shit.
Thats why I go around 4-5 PM :D

I'm not sure if the A.M is for me.

I just wrapped up my back workout 20min ago and let me say, I feel like total shit.. lol.

The strength was the same as I train any other day. I was quicker than usual due to the lack of people in the gym, but I felt light headed. I still do for some reason. If I drink a little bit more water, I think I could throw up. My stomach feels really bloated.

I'm not sure why. I guess it's a shocker to my body that's all.

We'll see how the rest of the week goes
