hey! cutting starts monday..i have been researchin that HIIT cardio routine n it looks pretty good..i juss wanna know HOW good it wrks u know...so has anybody done it before and have recieved good results or know of a better cardio workout? thnx alot... later
I do 2 HIIT cardio sessions a week. It's brutal but fun. Never boring. Short and sweet - 20 min (not counting warm up/down), and you're done. It's true your body burns a lower % of fat doing high intensity cardio compared to low intensity, but it's all about the afterburn effect - all day your metabolism will be reved like a blast furnace!
I believe the speed and power aspect of HIIT reminds your body that it needs it's muscle, whereas long slow endurance type cardio tells your body to drop some muscle to lighten the load. While marathoners generally have low body fat, they also have little muscle. Sprinters, on the other hand, have even lower body fat and significant muscle.
wow...thanks yall...im gonna try it out....can u do Hiit with other exersises ie skipping? i ask becasue in toronto where i live right now the weather is bad outside really cold and snowie thefore i am not able to run outdoors and i dont have a treadmill or n e eqipment as such..so wuold i b able to do say skipping hiit style? or even punching on a puncing bag hiit style??? or any other exersises that u guys might know of?? thnk peace
got any stairs? I think stair steppers would work better than skipping, your friends might think you're crazy if they see you running up and down the stairs though
hiit kicks ass, its the only way i'll do cardio.
