Digestive Enzymes helping with... Chicken, Brocolli, Sweet 'Tatoes, Ect?

I still love using ginger, either fresh or in powder form. Whether or not it helps to increase the digestion of proteins or not remains to be proven completely; but anytime I have a stomache ache for whatever reason, a heaping tablespoon of ginger powder in water gets rid of it better than anything else. One of my favorites for just about everything. :)
Alex I couldn't agree more .. My first taste of ginger was in the form of ginger ale when I was violently ill ... I mean my stomach was EMPTY, even heavy dry heaving from ice chips ... ICE CHIPS ... I listened to momma, tried the GA and I swear by it ever since ... I'm going to grab some powder .. one thing to add to the new place :) *still making a list*

Man, I love this site :D

So you use ginger like some use "Rolaids" or "Tums?"

- if so, good to know!

lol. If I get acid I use Pepcid AC. For stomache aches, ginger powder seems to "plow" through anything that might have gotten "stuck" in my stomache that's causing the pain. (That's how I like to think of it working in my head.:))

It has been shown to increase digestive movement through the stomach and duodenum and stimulates digestive enzymes in the pancreas. And it's used as a meat tenderizer which I imagine has to help with actual food products in your intestines.

ahhhhhhhhhh... even BETTER to know :D

I'll give u K if I didn't from before... i don't remember, lol  too much other junk in my brain right now!

If you can drink ginger powder in water, you can put back anything! Very strong stuff. I usually don't drink, but if I go out with friends and do a shot I never need a chaser for anything anymore. :)

LOL. I never understood the popularity of Jagermeister. Always hated it for some reason.

And the word Goldschlager always makes me laugh for some reason. We had a teacher in high school named Mr. Goldscheitter, who was a known alcoholic. Anytime we'd get in trouble that was the first thing he got made fun of. Somebody was always drawing a bottle with his face on it. :)

Good post. Ginger in fact is great for digestion, forgot in my ramblings about the "science" to put this kind of info in there.

Also, fresh pineapple is great immediately following a meal. Contains loads of the enzyme bromelain, which helps break down the amino acid bonds in proteins, which promotes good digestion.

Naturally ocurring is always best.

Bunny-love, et al:
Be of good heart with Ginger as its also an tremendous natural anti-inflamitory and can be a jah-send when it comes to DOMS and any hint of inflamed ligatures or those that have issues with chronicly 'sandy' synovial fluid. The administration should be chronic rather than symptomatic, however, so keep the intake regular and you will discover that not only does it help with inflam-soreness but keeps your.. um... 'wind' from blinding passers by... :)

:lmao: blinding wind!

I would NOT want to be in a room full of BBers that were too comfortable with their bodily functions... that would be a disaster area!

I've incorporated "beano" tabs on my high brocolli days... it has worked wonders with the bloat :)
