Cardio after binging...

out of curiosity how well does this work?

like say I were to fuck up on my diet, and ingest 1500 calories, mostly coming from carbohydrate form.

The next day, couldnt i just hop on the treadmill (with a book of course) and work it all off over a long period of time by either doing uphill walking, or running?

like it keeps track of how much you burn, and I could just run until I reached 1500 cals??

is there anything i should be aware of about this? I'm sure in terms of muscle preservation u are much better off just not messing up on your diet, but we're talkin when its too late for that.

Just accept it. Maybe lift really hard and it will lead to muscle growth. Don't overdo cardio like that (IMHO).

Whenever I'm about to binge (after some bad news or something), I think "what am I going to have to do to burn this off", and the thought of a 30 mile bike ride in the rain just puts me off it. :)

Binge and purge, man....binge and purge.

sike... but hell, even if you do cardio til it hits 1,500 cals, you burn more cals throughout the day just from your elevated metabolism. Try taking the max dose of Hydroxycut, drink a shitload of water, wait about 45 mins, then see if you want to binge on some food. Also, try ALWAYS having sugar-free Jello on hand at all times. If you feel like eating like a mofo, eat that stuff til you're about to barf. Either method (or both combined) work EVERY time.

i read it takes 12 hrs for food to turn to fat....

could that be true? so if you slip up, do some cardio within 12 hrs and then maybe not have as much damage?

I've been binging a quite a bit lately (especially on carbs). If its really bad, I'll just go and do 1-2 hours of cardio that evening. I like riding my bike, so its not a problem for me. I haven't gained any fat, so its obviously working.

Me as well.. I just keep telling myself, "Okay.. Tonight's the last night.. Tomorrow you'll cut alll of it out".. and then the next night i say the same thing... It's horrible. :bawling:

But to burn it off I usually do about 30mins of intense running.

I've found that binging is least damaging when I eat very rapidly - it seems that my body isn't capable of incorporating many of the calories when the food goes through that fast. An intense lifting session doesn't hurt either.
