youll do fine. once the kids get a feel of you and your style. make it so they trust you. its easy as hell. with all the information you can provide and do crazy lifts in front of them. suit up and show them just what you can do. they will be disciples to your church. i still have a few. youll do real well if you have patience for teenagers.

and they were wrong for doing it. dont condone such behavior. when you need to curse at high school kids you look like a moron with zero intelligence - set the bar, youre the adult/professional, leave the bullshit to the side. adults, sure. not in a high school setting. unprofessional and with all the politically correct douche bags waiting to report every little thing they see, cursing is 1 way to tank what could be a promising side job. ive seen it in school law cases my wife has written about and ive heard about them from her teacher friends.

+1 once a week me and some kids from school go out to the college near by and do practical skills stuff - brick laying, wood work, wall papering etc and the lecturer for painting is a fag, he swears at us all the time, if we're cheaky then he grabs our ears and slaps us over the back of the head and shit like that. We never get anything done because that happens then the kid does it back to him and nobody takes him seriously. We also got told all this time he has been teaching us the wrong course too... lol

For supplements, give me some time and I will see what I can do to help sponsor your team. I own a supplement company and even though I am flat broke (actually just overly "extended" at the moment) I might be able to help you guys out.

As far as equipment, you shouldn't need anything TOO STRONG and EXPENSIVE and if you went open back single ply...a decent amount of gear (especially shirts) could probably at least be used by multiple lifters. Do you have any contacts at APT? They are trying to really push their shirts and I'm POSITIVE that they would give you a deal if you were buying for a team. I can talk to Alan for you if it would help.

I should video tape them as they watch just the loading of plates for Christus' squat and Bergman's DL.

That would be funny as hell to do on day one. I can't wait.

you can only teach when you can do. i worked with trainers with very little experience and there is no goal, no rhyme, no reason. when they see that youve reached such a high goal and that you are offering them the map, minus the wrong turns, they are all in. youll weed out the wannabes very quick.

I graduated from HS a year ago and just like Timtim said, we had MUCH MORE respect for the coaches that either workout out with the team, have displayed their strength infront of the team, or hold proof that they used to be incredibly strong.

blazer my dads ex-gf's son who was an olympic powerlifter could clean 185lbs and catch it on his right forearm. do something like that and they will be amazed. lol. i know i was.
