Burning out with reduced weight? ?

Just curious about everyone's opinion on this routine:

Set 1: 10-12 reps
Set 2: 8-10 reps, up weight
Set 3: 6-8 reps, up weight
Set 4: Burnout with stripped weight

Basically just trying to get some info on the credibility of "burning out" with light weight. I seem to remember hearing someone warning of finishing out sets with a burnout because it isn't challenging the muscle with the heaviest weight of the routine? ?

Any opinions?

I think what he means is that burnout sets seem like a good thing to do, but actually don't do much for growth. In other words, fatigue does not necesarily equal growth. Real muscle growth starts with the last couple reps of lifting a heavy weight. It ends with diet and getting enough rest in between workouts.
