BuffaloGal's Log

Thanks gals (and guy! ;) ) The house is older, but there aren't alot of options for me initially, in the newer homes. This one is exactly the size I need for now. I'm going back to look at it tomorrow or Thursday and hopefully be ready to make an offer. I'll soon be counting the days, and then I can get back into a stable routine.

Diet is still good 90% of the time but we all know how "questionable" restaurant food can be. Workouts are pretty intense though, and I find myself extremely sore all the time. I'm really giving my muscles a workout, which is great. And I was able to run 3 miles yesterday with no problems - I can't wait for spring so I can start getting outside and running again. Feels so good to know I can still do it...

The only reason I asked newer or older was what questions you'll need to ask... not that I was being nosey and snooty.... Just wanted to clear that up.
One thing I always heard people say about older homes is make sure you get it investigated for mold. If it has mold you are screwed. They should release that in the paperwork what's wrong with the home... but in any case they may not know.
That's all I know about older homes :)
CONGRATS on the run and everything going on!!!

I knew you weren't being nosey Treil! I've tried to think of all kinds of questions - this is so new to me. My ex really did all the work last time. I appreciate any little advice anyone has to offer.

I've got the disclosure on the house and didn't see anything, course that doesn't mean it isn't there. I wish buying a house was easy but it'll be more trial and error for me. Feel free to ask/comment away... I'll take all the help I can get. ;)

Hey there, Girlie! Long time no talk to!! Been doing the same thing you are with the house. Just had the appraisal(sp) and inspection done today.

Definitely BE THERE when they do the inspection. They'll tell you anything that concerns them. They check the attic, basement, main floors any crawl spaces for mold, termites and any damage, etc.

If you have a GOOD realtor, he/she will make sure you FULLY understand what you're getting into and explain anything you may have a question on. ALWAYS ask them if you aren't sure!

Good luck! :rose:

Hang in there, BG. In a couple of months, you won't know yourself.

Dang, I really need to update this thing. Still have all my food/exercise logs and have really been busting my a$$, but have been so busy/tired working night shifts and house shopping that I just don't have time to get on here consistently.

I think I've found a house to buy and will go back this week to go over it with a fine-tooth comb before making an offer. Send some good luck vibes my way, SG since you're the newest experienced home-buyer!!

Good luck sweetie! ;)
